Why would you waste money on upgrading those markers? They are useless. Even if you upgraded them a lot they still won't perform better than a Spyder would. You should save up and buy something better.

Paintballdude, it's not your place to tell him he's wasting his money. He is prolly just fooling around with them seeing as how he has an Impulse and a Intemidator. And I beat people with Spyders (and they are in no way noobs, they have been playing atleast every second weekend of the season for about 5 years) with my Raptor Extreme. The only upgrades I have for it is a aftermarket 12" barrel and a turbo valve.

I didn't mean anything by it. I just ment I thought it was a waste of money when you can use it for something more useful. And I said it can't perform better than a Spyder, not Spyders are for new players or Spyders are bad markers. Lets face it, Spyders don't perform better than higher end markers.
And I beat people with Spyders
I've seen people beat other people with Stingrays before.... I think paintball is about the player not the marker, but it's still good to have a nice marker. I would rather spend money on a nice marker like a stock Autococker, lets say, than a really upgraded Stingray that performs on the same level as a Spyder.

I love going to the field with a Raptor Extreme and having ppl laugh at me, it just makes it that much more sweet when I bunker them.

Does this just sound really funny w/ contradiction?
"Why buy a stingray, it's crap..."
"I've seen people beat other people with stingrays before..."
Ok, besides all that, it's bragging rights. Sure, everybody is willing to trick out a Tippmann, Spyder, 'Cocker, whatever.... that's simple.
The challenge is tricking out a Stingray. The bragging rights and pride you get with that is better than buying an angel (an angel is in fact as useless as a d*ck on a backstreet boy, ask Maxim).

I bought a remanufactured stingray II for my older brother awhile ago, and its a cool marker. it doesn't fire that first but im working that out ;) and its pretty accurate with the barrel i put on it. (its cool on cartridges too).
I like it, i steal it from him and play with the internals all the time (those guys at cool people). but playing with it stock a few times taught him alot. people who start out with cockers and tls are really selling themselves short.. the first hundred games they play all they do is sit and throw paint. heh but i started out with a pump (sl 68 what what) and that showed me so much just because i could not compete just throwing paint so id actually have to move /closer/ before firing (crazy idea huh?) just because i wanted to hit with my first shot. And its kinda funny i was at an indoor field a lil while ago playing with my friends pgp (those are so great.) and i tagged some autocock....Er with it. that kinda ruined his day ill bet. imho it is definitely the marker not the man. and the stingray is so cool because it can grow so easily with you (STING has some crazycool stingrays on the site.). you actually have to think if you play with it stock (thats some wierd stuff right there, thinking i mean) :goody: and then you can do some CHEAP (stingray mods ARE cheap repeat CHEAP)mods at home.
I have a tricked piranha btw, and im actually starting to play in normal games with a stock marker just because i feel im lacking in alot of areas.
Most of us are better because we start with a crappier marker. im glad i didnt start with my current marker or a higher end marker i just wouldnt be able to get away with alot of the stupid stunts i pull on fields.
In short.
Dont listen to this guy people. if you want be good in the future (building blocks and whatnot) i would completely recommend a ray. and if not a ray, a hammer or a tigershark or even a sl 68II (dont forget the cool 14 inch barrel =p)
Feel free to flame
but keep in mind ill do /my best/ to goggle you with my pgp (its in the mail WOO HOO) as soon as i see you.
P.S. Michigan what?

I love Brass Eagle. My firsrt gun was a 'Ray 2, my second is a Raptor Extreme, I have a BE 280* Xtreme Vision mask, BE squeege, 14oz BE Tank, and a VL hopper! everything I own in Brass Eagle and I've never had a problem with any of it.
