Smart Parts: I love my impulse. And they have nice barrel bags.

Dye: a lot of their stuff is expensive, nice barrels though.

[Forrest Gump voice] And thats all i hafta say, about that.

DYE: Overpriced and bad quality control. Great quality, but bad quality control. Hence, lots of "lemons". And those 3 letters cost a lot.

Smart Parts: Only bought a freak but it is awsome. I like the philosophy. Two guns, both unique, quality guns.

Smart Parts - great company with good prices but a lil lacking in quality control

Dye - great company with high prices but lots of quality control

Smart Parts:

PROS: Good products, especially the markers, the Freak logo (the one-eyed dude) is awesome.

CONS: Sue-crazy company, not the greatest quality control. overcharge a 'lil.

DYE:

PROS: Good products, Reflex Cockers are cool, probably the biggest paintball clothing/protection company next to JT.

CONS: Horrible quality control, waaaaay overpriced products and when you tell non-paintball experienced people about it, they think it is Die, i.e. kill, and they think "WTF is with this sport?"

(And no, I'm not one of those freaks that thinks everything hurts the sport, but I have had friends think it's supposed to mean Die as in kill.)

Same here

SP : My imp hasn't let me down yet. But I hear horror stories about dealing with the company itself. Fortunatley I have Epbo.

Ok this thread is stupid. Dye is more of a apparel and accessory company. Maybe some barrels and markers here and there. Smart Parts is mainly hardware. So how can you even compare them?

I said it already and I'll say it again. Smart Parts is mainly markers. Dye is mainly apparel and accessories. (And a few Autocockers)

What about barrels? ever heard of the boomstick?

To be honest...

Both companies make most of their money from barrels.

DYE has the Ultralite, TI Boomstick, Stainless Steel, Boomstick, Excel, Aluminum, and Boomstick.

Smart Parts has the Progressive, Teardrop, Freak, Big Daddy, All American, and maybe another.

Both do make some cash in apparel and markers, however, not as much as a lot of people think. Remember, the Shocker and Impulse have had a LOT of teething problems, especially the Shocker, making a lot of people turn to companies such as ICD for their mid-level electronic guns (hence a suit would make sense). Also, the Matrix has gained fame, Angel has dropped in price, Autocockers have electronics, and the Auotmags are making a comeback.

As far as who is better, I will take the $100.00 price of a Boomstick over the poor customer service of Smart Parts any day. Smart Parts is a fine company, I like their equipment, especially the AA, however, I feel that DYE is more in touch with their customers.

:agree:

SP=No Quality, but if you want to release a gun thats 400 bucks I guess you have to lower the quality to get that 400 buck price tag.

Dye=I have got an invision from them, it is awesome.

I am sick of people putting down Impulses. Impulses are great quality and are very reliable. Why do you think so many people buy them? Why do you think the people who actually own them gave them high ratings? Don't talk until you've actually owned one you noob.

Mr. Freakfactory, how do we know that you are not a new player who is only going on hype? How do you know this other guys didn't just get a bad Impulse or it didn't fit is personal needs?

In all honesty, I hate the Impulse, I don't like them. It's my personal preferance. I admit they are fine guns for many players and they do have a good fallowing, and the price:preformance ratio is near unheard of (the gun runs $400.00 for a base model, you have a $100.00-$150.00 Max-Flo and a $40.00-$50.00 barrel, making the base model around $200.00-$260.00). They are upgradable to high-end with an I-/OTB Frame, WAS/Vision Board/Eye, aftermarket bolts, hammers, optimizers, LPRs, etc but for all of that, it will cost a good $1,000.00 or more, depending on if you get anoing and milling.

I was unimpressed the the Impulse when I finally got to use one but some people love em so im not gonna argue.

Dye rocks sp so hard.

Smart parts = low quality, crappy 2 piece barrel, mass production company that could care less about the stuff they sell, as long as they make money. Bad customer service.

Dye = God.

Have you ever considered we have tried and used them for long periods of times? I used one for 2 team practices to try it out before I bought a rat, needless to say I don't have a rat. The gun had a very high profile, I didn't like that. Next the gun had noticable fsdo. I fired a shot before teh game, and had to fire another on like every 2 minutes or so. That's not exactly how I want to play. The stock trigger was terrible. Long and heavy. I perfer guns where I don't need to do much upgrading out of the box. And to top it off my friends have dealed with SP customer service and have just had problems. Another reason is the stories on the forums, tic tacs and the legend are two great stories, each had terrible fsdo, adn tic tacs marker never worked. Imps just dont feel like solid marker to me.

you can't have a great quality high end gun for 400 dollars...

just doesnt happen.

in paintball you get what you pay for. an impulse will always be an impulse.

SP--
ups:: I loved(before this whole patent junk...) SP, best ads, great barrels, shocker owns everyone, and I was about to get an Impulse and fighter jersey, but I changed my mind.....
downs:: lawsuit, money-hungry, and the SP girls have attitude problems =(.

DYE:
ups:: Okay, first off, to whoever said DYE is mostly apparrel, back in the day, DYE was pretty much ONLY hardware. and that's when it all rocked. I like thier barrels, and all thier stuff looks great, esp. their cockers, and the ironmen angels when they made them. their jerseys look great, and thier pads are super comfy, esp. the slide shorts =).

downs:: yes, the quality control sucks mucho. And thier price tags are high (except straight from the trailer! 30$ slide shorts!!!! whoo!!) AND everyone is always out of stock of DYE stuff.
The biggest thing I don't like about them tho, is that EVERYONE wears all DYE stuff, esp. the young kids who aren't very good, I see sooooo many kids decked out in DYE stuff using angels, e-cockers, intimidators (and none of them look over 15:mad: ) and they all could definatley use some experience. AND they all act like they've been playing tournies longer that bob long (end sarcasm) GAH!!!
end rant.
but really, does anyone else get kids like this??? three of five fields here are overrun with these kids. grrrr.
