there are no posts in the shocker forum but tons in the impulse, also it seems though everyone is trying to get rid of there shockers, is the shocker falling to the impulse?? this is just how it seems to me. . .

I think the trend is going towards lighter markers. B2k, Imp, even Automags.

I don't think Shockers are dead. They are just quiet. In my area in Central Iowa, there are few. Mine, a teammate's, and a guy about 2 hours drive are all I can think of.

I think people are scared by the "weight" when really it is bulk, not pounds.

When people see me with mine I ALWAYS get, "What kind of gun/marker is that?"

They seem scarce on this board cause most of the people on here have Spyders and Tippmanns, but if you go to pbnation, theres tons of SHocker threads and owners

The guys on my team are kinda "pushing" me to get an Angel.

I don't know. I might have a ebay "Shocker and PF Automag combo sale."

I'm an Impulse owner, but I really like Shockers, especially the noise that they make.

my neighbor has a shocker, it's a newer one after 2000 and they made it better, it's barely larger than my impulse and weighs the same amount. but my imp is no where near as good as the shocker. people w/ shockers are all over. they just dont' go on the internet.

I like mine too. It's an awsome rec ball "one-shot-one-kill" marker. I've lost count of how many ppl I've gogged in one shot.

I also have a Werm 2x trigger. I takes less than a mouseclik to shoot it, but it stops a little farther back. Man I wailed on that thing today. Chopped one ball b/c my pressure was about 75psi! Whoops! Forgot to air up!

Shockers wil never die. They have been going since '98. I have a '99 and I love it. Its teaked to the nies and I wouldn't trade it fro any other type of marker. Only a newer shocker, But I am in no rush because mine is pretty sweet. I have a pic. Its currently in the canadian pic thread. I will find it and post it here.

Shockers are the biggest pimp markers!! They just look freakin awesome!!

I love the ecliplse shockers..what do you owners/smart ppl that know about shockers think of them?

anywa i just like the box shape of the shocker, and i really like how the trigger frame and foregrip are so much further up..unique and sweet ***!!

i love the shocker, it's so quiet and accurate. the newer ones don't look like a shoe box, they're smaller. if i had the $$ i'd sell my imp and get a shocker. they are the best markers around.

pyro: Just know that if you sell your old shocker for a new one, it's only for the looks. The internals are hardly the same. I talked to a Smart Parts technician and she indicated that the only thing that has changed over the years of the shocker is the milling and cosmetics. Nothing internal has changed that I know of. And if any, there are extremely minor.

Yeah...don't worry man....I know all about the consistancy of the internals. And I don't really plan on selling it and buying another one for a while. I'm just getting a custom mill job on the one I got.

I picked up a copy of APG and I was happy to notice all the shockers I saw in the hands of the tourney players. The ROF fire issue has gotten everyone all worked up. So many folks are soley convinced that a marker is judged on ROF alone that they are selling their shocker to get a gun that has "16 bps" bragging rights. Its like a drag strip. They don't worry about how the car handles, just how fast it is for 4 seconds. These are the guys who bring their gun to the chrony to see how fast they can pull the trigger. They do some sloppy elemers glue trigger job, brag about how short their pull is. When they have convinced everyone they have the fastest gun on the field, they don't even want to play, rather they want you to pat them on the back and say "WOW what an AMAZINGLEY fast gun!" Then they are ready to go home happy.

When I start getting out shot, I will get another marker. It hasn't happened yet....

Shocker are not falling to the Impulse. No way, a Shocker is a good gun but an Impulse is a peice off ****.

I've never seen anybody totally happy with their Impulse. I have seen others happy with a Shocker.

Mine is amazing. When I first got it and saw the mantenence, I thought "ugh." Now all I really do is clean off the bolt every few weeks, and lube the rest once a month. Very little and it keeps working great.

That was not meant as a flame. I just see alot of local guys selling their Imp's. I don't know the whole story as to why.

ya, when i was at the pan am tourney, i talked to a team that was staying next door to me in a hotel and told them that i had thought about gettin an impy, and the dad (plays on the team and owns a feild) said stay away from them, "they are complete POS!" (the edited version, hehe) he said all the people who have them at this field are unhappy with them . . . doesnt matter now, i went with a bushy anyway :D

the bad thing about the imp is that it's new and SP keeps changing it. mine is completely different than the newer ones. and people are getting mad cause they're now coming out w/ a vision upgrade for it and they can't get it cause their imp's body is outta date.

but anyway, an impulse is a shockers *****. i love the sound of the shocker nothing comes close to it.

You know the Pro team the All Americans? Half the team uses Impuses and the other half uses SHockers and last time I checked, they were ranked 3rd, so no, shockers are not dying.

I think the impulse will come into its own. If you look at the amount of time it has been out, and go back and look at a shocker at the same stage of development, the impulse has a much better start. I have been considering trying an impulse, but not for at least a year. The bodies have been changing, heck the barrels don't even fit from one imp to the next the way I understand it. As it stands right not, the shocker has been around long enought for SP to figure out what it takes to build a good one. The imp still needs a few months of trial and error before it comes out of beta build.

Has anyone seen the new electronic markers from ZAP? If the ads are true (heh arent't they all?) They will seriously give the Imp a run for its money in the bargain basement electro niche. I mean 12bps vertical feed electro for less than $300? It doesnt look much bigger than a mag. Hope it true.

Richy_C, I guess you have seen these Zap markers in action? Get what you pay for huh? I know they make a 600 model and an 800 model they look identical except for some plastic on the receiver, there is about $200 price difference in them though.
I also hear national paintball is coming out with a budget electronic marker. Probably equivalent to a stacked tube blowback with an electronic frame.

I came, i saw, i puked, it's like sopme cheep plastic crap, horrid trigger.

Heh, can't wait till some kid talks his maw into buying him one and we get to see the "Trigger is better than an Angel!" and the "My gun is quieter than my buddys Shocker". It will probably have a 9.99 rating in the reviews section.

/me jumps back on topic.

My team mate has a Shocker. It's quite amazing. It's not very pretty (sorry!), but the range and rof combined make it great.
It's not quite the marker for me though. I'm the front player that likes to get closer, no matter how far away or small the next bunker is:). The Shocker might is one of my favourite markers, despite it being a little tricky for me.
