Yaay. I'm buying an ACI Maverick. I normally shoot a JT, and I waste way too much paint, so I looked into pumps and the Maverick looked/sounded great. Got good reviews. So I snooped around and found a guy selling about 8 for $40 apiece. So I'm buying one.
I'm gonna be running a 14oz C02 (maybe a remote) and one of those neat little Brass Eagle pocket hoppers. It's gonna rock!
Anyways, can anyone tell me if there are any problems or anything I'll have to worry about with a Maverick?

Guess who I'm gonna direct you to.
*drum roll* Presenting, the one, the only, Mav!
PbFreak - Lol thanks dude, I looked at this post earlier but didn't have too much to offer. After a presentation like that, I guess I'll have to see what I can do!
Housemaster - Allright here's the skinny:
Mavericks are Nelson based pumps, they're the simplest marker designs out there, so don't expect many problems (if any). It'll run well for you a long time. The only soft seals to worry about are the bolt o-ring and the cup seal...
This is the closest thing I could find to a working Maverick's Owners group:

Be sure and read the reviews on this website to see if they mention anything:

I also looked around this forum to see if I could locate any troubles that people had with Mavericks:
Here's one: http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160123
And another:

And a list of every thread in this forum in case you want to look up information or more possible problems/fixes:

Well, after being a Maverick owner for almost 2 and a half years now, I have to say it is one incredible marker. From the day I pulled it out of the box I had ver VERY high hopes for the gun, and it hasn't let me down yet. This is definitely one of the simplest, most reliable pump guns out there and it will not break down on you (that is unless you dont take care of it). Although upgrades are usually hard to find, they are available, and they will make this gun go from good to better.
As far as maintenance, there is very little with this gun, and because of its simple design whenever it does need maintenance it is not hard to do at all.
This is a good gun and will serve you well for a couple of years.
