We of all paintballers who started out at a very young age must remember our parents saying no to paintball because they said it was too dangerous as we tried to convince them saying it was safe untill they said yes! But there must be some people out there still fighting to play paintball so thats why i am going to tell you all what paintball isn't!

Most parents think this is a violent sport because we have guns and shoot each other but what about water guns and also those nerf guns they aren't violent and neither is paintball

Well first off paintball is not war no one is getting hurt and we wear safety equipment like masks.

The very foundational rules of paintball seeks to limit personal injury:

Paintball markers are restricted to low velocities.
Players must wear protective eye wear. The use of eye wear SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR PAINTBALL, is strictly enforced.
Close range shooting of an opponent is discouraged and players find this type of behaviour "bad form".
No physical contact between player is allowed. (Other than celebratory "high fives" after the successful completion of a game.)

For the people still fighting to play this awsome SAFE sport share this with your parents and maybe this will convince them.

There are many more reasons why paintball is 100% safe but my time is limited for now lol. (got to get ready to go play paintball)

isn't there a sticky with all this info?

i just started like 3-4 months ago and my parents still said no... not like it mattered. all they could say was, "it's too expensive! you know you have bills to pay! be responsible! blah blah! we still know what's best for you even though you have your own house while we were still working part time jobs at your age blah blah blah!"

ok that was mean. my dad knows i'm doing my own thing and is ok with it. that quote was from The Mom *dun dun duuuuun*

i think more and more parents are learning to deal with it nowadays. i see parents playing with their kids aaaaalll the time.

more and more parents are accepting it. their main beef is with the cost of everything... well a lot of people who play are rather well off so cost isn't a problem. i seem to be the only one with financial woes in this game :sulk:

i see church groups pulling up in their vans and playing. freaking churches are giving paintball the  so you know that'll sway even more 'rents. since paintball is starting to go a little more mainstream (that's good and bad) people are looking at it as another sport. if parents will let their kids join little league, they'll let them play paintball... heeeeeey, isn't there a paintball little league? if not there should be.

ya, my parents are just worried about the cost. At first they didn't want me to get my talon because they thought they were a vandalists weapon of choice, and that the paintballs are all messy, and that I would get in trouble with it. After a while, I got my talon, and my dad and I went paintballing with a bunch of good friends and their families, and he liked it. He even wanted me to get a new gun after he saw some of hte other older guys with tippmanns and stuff.

Bad = Too many people at fields.

I don't really see this as a bad thing. If there are too many people at a field then the field will expand. If the field can't expand, than more fields will open in the area. There will then be more competition and prices will come down even more.:)

why make fun of the newbs we use to be one lol. i remember seeing some lil kids owning little brass eagle eradicators asking me "the skilled one" lol why wont my gun fire and i would have to reply "umm you got to gas it up first"
then they would come back and say my gun still wont fire then i would have to say "safety is on" then yet again they come back and say my gun still doesn't fire then i would have to say you got no balls in there and before you come back asking me why your gun wont fire again try cocking the gun and also take your barrel plug out on the field" lol and now i see them still but guess what they got better guns i remember seeing one of them owning an impy and now they rush right behind me.(awww they grow up so fast lol) That use to be me back in the good old days not knowing the differences between an hopper from and electric
hopper lol.
