how to mount a side scope?

my hopper is a drop down, if thats what its called, so if i want to mount my adco red-dot sight, i guess i need to use a side mount, or maybe use elbows to push the hopper up and out of the way of the sight, any advice, techniques?

vertical feed... that's what it's called. you sure you want to put a site on it? if you really want to, just tie it down with some fishing line or thin wire. or duct tape. just, um, don't use more than one elbow...
