I really want a new trigger frame before I buy nitro so what style should get? A hinge trigger or sliding trigger? I am really interested in the hinge trigger because I find that easier to shoot, like on my old TL. Is it weird on a cocker though? And what brand hinge trigger is better WGP, Shocktech or other?
Thanks

as far as hinge triggers I have only personally tried the WGP hinge.
Most people are swaying towards WGP or the Eclipse Blade (hinge) trigger. the shocktech one is just plain old butt ugly (no offense to the people that have that one)

yep. that just doesn't apply to their triggers. Their guns in general. I trust WGP, and it's products that they make. Just look at the STO, it was STO parts that set the standard by which aftermarket companies have to out do. And even till today. STO parts are very good, and reliable!

me likey eclipse.... although I'm sure they all function pretty much the same way... I just paid the extra $$$ for the looks...
Although, the eclipse frame is an EXTREMELY well thought out frame, and is functional, has clean lines, and just simply works very, very well... I'd have more kind words to say about WGP's one if I actually had a chance to see/touch/rip into one, but my exp. is limited here ^_^ maybe SK can fly over my way and let me borrow his... hehe

well, i have had my pivot for 2 weeks. I took it off. Nothing wrong with it, i am just too used to the slide trigger. I let a friend use it that has never shot a cocker, and he got off on it. It shot close to that of a impy.
BTW ,,,im selling the trigger frame. Brand new,,,chrome, not a scratch,,i even polished out more,,its quite bling bling...whatya give me...???

It is very weird going back to the pivot style triggers after getting used to a normal cocker.
I can see why you would want to take it off. Personally I've gotten used to it now, although it took me a little while.

It does take time to get used to. I think I am too used to the sliding trigger. But here is your pic.

that looks pretty cool too. does it come with all springs and stuff installed in the trigger? how much does it cost? will dye stickies fit the frame?
JDoGG

i'd assume it does come with all the springs and things for that price. and yes sticky grips will fit it. any standard 45 frame grips should fit it

I was going to get the eclipse because it is sssooooo nice:love: . But there is a really long waiting list if you want to get one. I went out to a proshop and got a hinge trigger, that i love:love:  . If you want to what then go for the eclipse but if you plan on getting a new frame soon go with the hinge trigger.

speaking of new trigger frames on the market check out the new Powerlyte frame for that autococker Powerlyte autococker single/double trigger (http://www.powerlyte.com/hubs/frames.asp)

that looks like just a double tyrigg for the cocker not a hinge
Silent Knight
09-06-2001, 05:29 PM
yea you are correct. I didn't say it was a hinge :D it's just a basic double trigger with your standard sliding action. Powerlyte is supposed to have their hinge trigger due out the end of October. They told me they will be using the same style you see on the link there, except with the hinge action

apprx how long are the eclipses backordered. and do you think they'll drop alittle in price with all these other new frames coming out?
Silent Knight
09-07-2001, 01:00 PM
im not sure how long, you should give G3 a call and see. But I don't think they'll drop the price. The Eclipse blade is the most sought after trigger on the market right now. If anything the price won't drop untill the demand drops.

the last time I talked to terry, which was, ummm, last month some time, he said that he didn't even know how long the wait was, but that it was quite some time... makes me glad to be a 1st batch'er hehe
I hear that if you offer up your first-born, you get moved up the list ^_^

I heard they are coming out with a number of electronic frames for the cocker in the future. Do you guys think that would work very well? I mean could it keep up with todays hi-tech markers in r.o.f. but still keep the well known cocker accuracy? Or should I just stick with a regular trigger? At the current moment I'm waiting for the eclipse blade to come back in stock.
Also with the blade is the trigger pull adjustable or something like that. I heard something like that. Or do you have to get a trigger job for that?

the eclipse frame has both front and rear travel stops...
unless I really really *had* to make the switch, I'd stick w/a mechanical setup... cockers are just too much fun to shoot... and w/a good trigger setup and practice (either pivot or sliding), the ROF difference is more of a degree than defecit. I don't feel outgunned when I run against electros...

Ok guys just grabbed a WGP hinge trigger ( sweeeeeet )
Really wierd theory to get used to that it pushes the 3 way forward.so they say reverse the hoses on a 3 way ( no probs )
Now I got da bomb 3 way which u install without a hinge trigger reversing the hoses.
so technically what s wierd with this combination ( da bomb 3way and hinge trigger ) is that you don't follow any of the companies instructions on reversing the 3 way hoses and install them normally ( piece a cake)
Didn't have a problem installing it.
The hinge trigger even fit on a pre 2000 cocker no probs.
just thought it was ironic though hehe.

One of the reasons why they're so expensive, is because they're made in England and shipped to the U.S. I'm kinda used to the sliding trigger, but Planet Eclipse is the way to go. Great customer service.

2 more questions about the eclipse blade
How short can you make the pull for the eclipse?(Anyone that owns it)
Also Will the maddman springkit for the autococker fit in this frame cause I want to make the pull softer? Or do you have to get spyder trigger springs?
zenmaster
09-16-2001, 06:56 PM
I've got mine in the 1.5-2mm range, measured by timing rod travel and NOT trigger swing arc. I really don't think you can go much shorter than that while still keeping reliable operation. you still need enough meat on the sear to catch the hammer on recock, and once it wears down, you may have issues.
and really, any knowledgable cocker shooter would concede that a 2mm pull length is very short ^_^
Yes, the eclipse frame uses std. cocker trigger and sear springs. The stock return spring is fine, but I found that the sear spring was way too heavy, and switching out THAT spring lightens up the feel considerably.
The manual even states that the frame can be used w/o the trigger spring altogether

have you tried it with out the spring
zenmaster
09-18-2001, 06:29 PM
nope... according to manual, it's not recommended, although I don't know why

well I like the wgp cause their easy to adjust but their long so its kinda weird but in the long run doesn't effect your play plus I've shot the blade and the part of the trigger that moves is pretty small compared to the wgp plus the blade is a little bit more effort to adjust cause you have to take it apart when on a wgp you turn a screw inside the trigger frame when you take off the grip...
zenmaster
09-19-2001, 07:03 PM
ummm, for the most part, the internal set screw on the eclipse frame isn't even needed, and the trigger stop is adjusted after removing the trigger shoe, which takes about as long as removing a grip panel, so it's hardly an additional effort
