I was under impression that Impulse (standard) is a full auto electro gun? Am I wrong? If it IS semi, why is it electro? Could someone clarify that for me.

Thanks.

You can get the Genesis board mod that will make the Impulse Semi, 3 round, 6 round, or Auto, but you can't use that in Tournies.... The electro part of the gun means that basically the trigger activates the board which fires the gun... instead of having to fully release the trigger very time you can kind of wiggle the trigger to activate the board and get insane rapid fire rates.

So practically you don't need the Genesis board? ( I read about Genesis board from FAQ thread), I mean you don't need it in the sense that you can fire just as fast as Genesis board, manually?

One more question. When you order Impulse from online stores (like pbgear.com) can you order the gun with vertical regulator attached already? Like Killer Kat's gun?

PS: Ender I am in the same position as you are, I played very actively with a Spyder TL+ gun and now switching to a better marker, I looked at mags (still am), then cockers and finally found Impulse, that I am pretty sure on getting.

As killer kat will tell you (and he will :D) Order Impy's from www.e-paintballoutlet.com The guy there, FOM, will set up everthing you need. Regular impulses are 400 there, vert regs are 450.

I think the thing you need most on your impulse is a new trigger.. Have FOM install it for you, and tweak it JUSSST right. Only 20 dollars, whats stopping you!? You dont need a genessis board if you have a blade trigger. The ROF is INSANE!

Killer Kat will explain in more detail why to order from FOM.

-Knux see's Kat workin up a huge sales pitch

You could get the genesis board so you can have those electronic options but its a convienence... once you get a blade or werm trigger you'd be set to fire as fast as humanly possible.

If you order an Impulse, I'd get it from www.e-paintballoutlet.com. The owner will setup the gun just how you want it (Blade trigger and all) and make sure it works... for the same price. The vert Reg is $450 compared to the Impulse with the Gas Thru Grip at $430.

It was tough making the decision to get an Impulse (still need cash though), but overall its going to be the best choice... not alot of maintenence, great ROF, and it looks sleek too. If only I wasn't shelling out 1500 for my trip to Italy and Greece this March... :blah: . Anyway when you get your Imp post and let me know how you like it :D .

You should test fire an electro a few times and you will understand why you don't need f/a. :D

I understand now, thank you very much. Well, I went back to school now and I won't be able to afford a gun until late November, I hope FOM will still throw a deal. But, from reading all the material, reviews and boards, it sounds like Impulse is the way to go for a second gun. Also, the reason I would like to go for Impulse is that I am mostly a front player in rec wooded games. Well we have our field set up in the forest with a huge amount of bunkers. So the size and the weight of the gun really matters to me. Do you guys agree? Or anyone is willing to talk me out of it? Thanks again!

You dont need the firing modes, ask most people with electric guns and you will find that practically no one uses them

1. Does Vision upgrade really worth it? I plan on getting 12v revvy
2. The tank, I currently have 9oz 12oz 20oz CO2 tanks, are those usable on Impulse, or do I _HAVE_ to get anti-siphon tank(isn't it for compressed air and nitro as well?) So shouldn't I better off just getting something like a Crossfire 68ci 4500 tank?

Thanks!

they vision is worth it if you have the money, nitro will obviously be better than c02 if you can afford it, get it! if you cant i would atleast get an anti-syphon tube in your tank, liquid could hurt the reg.

I played Sunday (rec ball in the woods) with my standard Imp, Keep in mind I'm old and slow, So I'm waiting and I hear these three guys they take out the two kids on top of the ridge and they start work down the side of the ridge in towards the two guys I'm with! Well the guy with the tricked out cocker step out into the opening and I laced him with a dozen balls in less then you can say "OUT" Well my girlfriend son walked off the field with the guy, and he told him Killer hit me with everyone of those 12 Brandon said I don't think that was Killer he was a small dude To which my victim replyed "No ones gun shoots that fast except for Killer Kat's. I play rec I don't need a Vision, And I don't chop! I bought extras with the money I saved by goin' standard!

-Knux thinks it would be cool to play kat one time

Ok, so don't go with Vision (at least not for now), but get a nitro tank. Any preferences from people? I never used nitro/air before.

Thanks again for all your help. Now off to get my girlfriend to ok the new toy :) I will come back to you guys, when the time comes to ordering for the final parts list to get approved. Thanks a lot!

If money is not a limit, get an Air America tank or the WDP Tank... quite possibly the best tanks I've read about. If you want to go low, then Pure Energy or the new Crossfire tanks should do well.

I did some financing too BTW... on my part time job I have to shell out $300 a mo until December to pay off my Italy and Greece trip (YUCK!) and then of course my $90 for car insurance, and about $50 for other expenses. So... I guess that impulse will have to wait until January or Feb... =(. Needless to say Im POed... but maybe it'll be for the better so then I can save up more money and get all the upgrades at once when I order from FOM.

I'm figuring this as my fream for the next few months.

-Black Impulse w/ Verticle Max-Flo -- $450
-Shocktek Black Drop Forward -- $35
-Black Blade Trigger -- $25
-Trigger Job -- $30
-Derlin Bolt -- $36
Grand Total -- $576

Ouch =).

err... Im not sure about you, but i payed 25 for the blade, and he set it up as light as can go...... i think the 35 is for the werm stick modded, but dont quote me on it...

-Knux not sure...

What about the barrel, shall that be upgraded as well?

It's only money! If ya gotta wait just alittle bit longer to save the scratch (money) save up and get the Vision. If ya start playin in alot of tournies you'll be glad ya got it! I'm too old, too fat, and way too slow, to ever get to that level of play, and don't need what the vision provides. BUT that's me! Don't do something for you, based on what's good enuff for someone else! Get the best "that you can", Do the best "that you can", And you'll never have any regrets!

I know it's kind of a silly question, but do you think your prices will last until November this year? I am looking for a full Impy package with tank, 12v revvy, barrel, bolt and trigger job.

Thanks

The stock barrel is good enough for me, or will be, when I get it. Of course I'll probably get a freak set if I end up needing it, or just get a custom freak barrel.

I might consider getting a vision too while I am at it... but it an easy upgrade? I'd prefer to get a upgradable Impulse so later down the road I can just put it on.

I'm going down to my local field (about 10-15 min away really) Monday to play with a friend with my good ol' Tippmann 98, so if I really get into speed ball It might be worth while to get a Vision. But we'll see.
