My dad is interested in playing paintball, and he wants me to do research for him to get him a good gun. He is very responsible and smart, so I know he can handle a good gun. And I want a few suggestions for a good Mid-Class Semi Gun that would be good for him. I am pretty new myself, so I need help.
I need suggestions for a good gun!

Well first offa battery of questions to help narrow it down. What type of gun do you have? Do you want your father to have the same type or even same brand of gun as yourself or another one? Do you mind if his is more advanced or sophisticated than yours?

Yeah me too. If your dad had a similar gun though, or even the same brand, then you could help each other with modifications and stuff and your parts would be compatable. But if you had two different guns entirely, then you get the experience learning about two guns instead of just one.

Lol, Thats the problem. I have a Tippmann 98 Custom. I know that if my dad gets the same gun, he will very quickly just get all the upgrades and pass me by, lol!!! So, I am thinking on maybe a Bob Long Millenium or a Spyder TL. I dont care if he has a gun that is better than mine, as long as its not the same gun as me.. Aren't I weird??? It doesnt really bother me if he got a Tippmann 98 Custom, I just think he derserves better than that, lol. I want something less than an Auto-Cocker, but higher than a Tippmann 98 Custom. And it has to be AT LEAST $200 for the whole gun package. Did I narrow it down?
Thanks

well less than a an autocoker (stock) IS a tippman or spyder.
me and my dad both had spyder shutter's his blue with cp barrel, mine red with a bigshot. i have recently sold my gun to upgrade now my dad is jealous and wants a new gun also
so if he wants to spend AT LEAST $200 how high is he willing to go? or was that a typo?

Yeah, a Spyder Shutter was another gun I was looking at for my dad. I want him to have something a little better than me. But not TOO much better. Just because he has more cash than me doesn't mean I should screw him into getting a Talon or anything, lol.

Has he ever played before?
If not. Don't even think of buying a gun yet (just my opinion)
If he has a bunch of money and dosn't mind spending money and likes to upgrade. I suggest get him a compact and have fun upgrading it all the way. THen when he is really good. He can buy himself and you matching Timmy's (or whatever). But why do you want him to start out with a ral good gun if you don't know if he's gona be into this or whatever?
just my opinion

ya if he wants a custom gun to upgrade, definately go for a compact and upgrade it all! he'll want a new gun when there is nothing left to upgrade hehe. that sounds like fun, if i could take my shutter back i would, i would rather have a compact, with a nice reg, nice drop, and a nice barrel, for the same price as my stock shutter . . .

He hasnt played before, but I keep telling him that we should go to the paintball place and have him rent a gun, and we can play a woods game there or something, but he keeps on insisting that he is sure that he will be into it... I still agree wit you guys about having him try it first. Yeah a Compact would be nice, I just don't like the trigger pull on it...

send it over to polecat and for $25 he will do the nicest trigger job you have ever seen on a non-electro spyder

have you ever considered letting your dad get your gun and you get a new one? That way you alreayd know all about the gun and you can teach him, plus he can practice in your backyard or whatever...
