Greetings,
OK, I talked to Bob for a while today.
Here's the scoop directly from him.
He has been testing the milling on the regulator housing we originated a few months ago - he likes it - he's getting about the same 170 PSI HP/85 PSI LP and shooting 290s at the chrono with very good consistency and no shootdown in long fast strings due to the added volume and flow.
1. The new single regulator/housing:
Should be ready for initial testing this week.
Maybe mass produced in the next month.
2. Trigger frame - The prototype is undergoing test fit now and everything fits - it's a little tight, but fits.
Should be available for show at Cup - maybe for sale there - more on the Cup in a minute.
Some info on it: It will have an 0-ring groove around the top where it fits against the body to stop paint and water penetration.
The indication I got is most of the soleniod and electronics will load from the side above the trigger area and the battery and board will load similar to the way they do now.
They will directly bolt on to existing Timis.
I did forget to ask about the LCD and buttons, tho. :((
The trigger guard will be shapped more like conventional frames.
Conventional grips like stickies - probably!
There will soon be a choice of either grip on the standard Timis from the dealers and maybe a choice of triggers, too!
3. New bolt feedback has been positive and they are sweet.
4. New marker is getting close to testing stage. This will be aimed more at tourney players as they will be tuned to the max before they leave the factory.
SOB and Delrin Bolt will probably be standard as is the new grip frame and regulator housing - they will be LP only as this has proven not to shoot down and remains consistent and accurate during long strings at high ROF and possibly include a CenterFlag inline regulator.
Again, I don't know about the LCD and buttons - but I'm guessing not.
There should be about 10 or 12 at the Cup undergoing testing!
They also should be available in January 2002.
OK, that's it for now Timi Fans!
