Using PB Gear For Non-Paintball Purposes [Archive]

Post what you do with your paintball gear besides for playing paintball.

This just occured to me today when I was cooking with my sister. I had to peel and cook some onions, you know how that stings your eyes real badly? Well, I didn't feel like having my eyes sting like Hell, so I ran upstairs and got my goggles. It worked great. lol, so yeah. My siblings found it very funny and got the camera, so here's a pic (I look very odd in here... damn lighting):

I don't know if a thread was made about this before, but if there was, I don't feel like bringing it back since people usually flame others for bringing up old, old threads. And I stuck it in General Paintball Talk, because people in the PBR AIM chat said it belongs here, so yeah. I'm done now. :crazy:

This past year we've had some crazy weather in upstate NY, including some blustery blizzards and such. Anyway, one snow day I used my JT Flex-7 Graphite IZE mask w/ tinted prism lens while shoveling snow. Not only did it block the glare caused by the sun and the pure white snow, it also shielded my face from the below zero temperatures and wind. :P

Tictacs reminded me, I work at a paintball field, and last week we decided to use pods as drinking cups (we ran out of dixie cups). It was pretty sweet because we could stick the pods in our packs and drink on the go. (NOTE-We never took our masks off during games to drink ... we may live in the boonies, but were not stupid.)DO THE DEW!

I used mine to unclog my vacume the other day.

i use old crappy barrels as nightsticks and beat people
i use my gloves when mountain biking
i fill my pods with various liquids
my pack and pods make it easy to carry around drinks and food
i scare away various animals such as racoons skunks etc, with my UNLOADED paintball gun, just dry firing
and i jump out of bushes with my mask on and scare people
i kill bugs with my gun(unloaded)
i carried around candy at school onday in a 45rnd hopper (note has to be either round candy or really small like junior mints etc)
i use my gun to scare people out of my room(crazy sisters)

We built a wind chime out of various spyder/spyder clone and Tippmann stock barrels for the field I work at ... It's quite soothing.

Whats with you guys and bugging Cindy? What your doing now is why we dont have many ladies on PBR. You need grow up and then go interact socially with the opposite sex in real life, not this childish "show me your boobies" cyber stuff.:yell:

Dunno, seems a little unfair if I close her thread just because all the guys are hitting on her, and I rather liked the topic too.

So lets go over a few things guys:

2. and yes, Cindy is a paintball player

So since we are all paintball players here, we should all be treated as equals. Which means, if other paintball players don't gawk at your breasts or make comments about your body, then you shouldn't be doing it to Cindy. If you're looking for a date or pictures of pretty girls, go join a chatroom or a teen forum or something. We're here to talk about paintball.

Back on topic:

my 16" dye boomstick was a makeshift anti-spider cudgel type thing once. I put a little ding in the tip from smashing the spider into the tile floor.

and I've used a co2 tank and my coiled remote as a paper-push-arounder gas-type-blowy-thingy...

Okay I guess I don't have any real practical uses for my gear, but in reverse I use an old canvas music stand case to hold my barrels now. It's a perfect fit.

Thats all I can think of for now. :)

I use my Dye ATC's as regular tennis shoes (they are really comfortable, even more than regular shoes)

I use my goggles as eye protection for everything from weed-eating, to spontaneous airsoft battles, to using a dremel.

I use my old e-99 stock barrel as a bottle rocket launcher.

I used a co2 tank and remote line to clean the gunk out of my keyboard

We've used a n2 tank and remote line for cleaning out the air filter for an air conditioner.

Stock cocker barrels (unported :)) make great spitwad launchers.

Barrel condoms aren't just for barrels anymore......lol, j/k.

I have a friend that made a bong out of a 140 pod and a windchime :D

Many many more, but I can't think of all of them.

Well once when I ran out of Co2 I used my barrel as a blowgun for paintballs and made a mess in the garage, then dad came home from work and saw my mess:| :(

And I shot paintballs with a wrist rocket. Speaking of wrist rockets, did you know that if you use one of those babies to shoot grapes up against a wall the grapes will make a wet splat, and almost completely turn into liquid?

I used my barrel to swat at a mosquito buzzing by my face,

I use my barrel condom as a rubber band thing to shoot my brothers with.

straight shot squegees are great backscratchers.

I use my squegee and lanyard as a whip.

neck guards are great gags for the hostages in the basement...:badboy:

And I have used my mask lens as a mirror before
