I for one feel tippmans are overated. Just because they caust more people feel the overall performance is better which is not true, whos noticed how poor they are for speedball and just plain out running?

I personally don't like Tippmans, but other people love them. Performance wize, i think that SPyders do have better performance and potential. I have shot the M98, and it's ok, but i like my spyder better.

There all right but ill give um this. You could friggin run over an M-98 with a steam roller and it would be fine. There pretty damn reliable. (can i say damn on here?)

i dont have a problem with tippmanns, i pesonally dont own one but alot of my friend swear by them, they may not be the best marker for everyone, but there are a whole bunch of people that really like them and as someone said they are very reliable and almost indestructable. so i actually dont think they are overrated, its all about preference

i dont like that the foregrip and trigger are 6 inches away. Theyre hrd to manevure with. Theyr egood entry level guns, but u cant upgraded them to ur performance level like a psyder, or a pirnha.

you can now the EM98 kit is awsome turns it into an electro=pneumatic and it works very well, the only draw back
is its too hard to field strip

Who would be stupid enough to pay $140 on a M98 and then spend another $300 on an upgrade to make it full auto?!?!?!?!?? With the $440 you spent you could have gotter a WGP Autococker 2000 and a bunch of upgrades!!!!!! Think about it. A full auto M98 for $440 that is only able to shoot 9bps(that is what tippmann says) v/s a 2000 autococker that can shoot 13bps. And the autococker is only $330! With the extra $110 you could get a Dye Boomstick! So here is what we are looking at. A M98 full auto v/s a 2000 autococker w/boomstick. Which would win? Which do you want?
RedWidow
02-24-2001, 12:28 PM
who cares about buying a full auto kit, who would buy a tippman at all in the first place

Well im sorry but you are mistaken im not talking about that stupid little box that makes the gun full auto.the Em98 kit turn a regular tippmanm98 into a very nice electropneumatic
marker with fully adjustable modes of fire and low pressure reg and a whole lot of other things its a very nice marker
and anyone who shoots this thing will NOT classify this thing as a low end marker

OK, first, I can get a Tippman 98 for about $50 less than I paid for my Piranah. Second, I've been lit up by KIDS with stock 98s and Flatline 98s, so, it's definitly not a question of whether their gun was better than mine, but that they were playing better than I was. Third; let's not get a "My Marker is Better than Your Marker" debate going in here. Each gun has it's pros and cons, and though I may have paid $150 for my STS, I'm sure someone else got it for less, and that doesn't make there's any worse than mine.

I agree ,first i am not in any way trying to say one is better than the other i actually dont own either(i own an automag) but 3 of my friend have bought the 32* Electronic tippman Em98and they paid almost $500 for the marker, would i pay that much for a tippmann probably not but my point is.
there is alot of people who would its all about personal preference. And im saying that ive used the Marker and none of my friends who bought these regret it and if had to do it again would still buy that one over a cocker or mag or any marker in that same price range,Again is all personal preference..........sorry to rant,,,,,,,wait no im not .LOL

No Sweat Issbug ... I've got a Piranah, and i'm biased toward it. I'd just prefer people think about what they're saying. There might be some kid out there who really wants a Model98, thinks it's a great Marker and has just enough money to buy ... but then someone starts bashing it and the kid changes his mind. Well, maybe he doesn't have enough money to get something else, so he just gives up on the sport. It's one thing to lay out some well thought out criticisms of a particular marker, but any FOOL can bash it.
(And I'm not saying anyone here was bashing anything. :))

All I realy want to say is that the M98 is overated. Tippmann is a little to proud of their guns. A M98 is as good or worse than a Compact 2000 or Piranha VTL. And the M98 costs about $40 more! If you are gonna spend $130 on a M98, save for another month or two and buy a PMI Piranha STS G2. It is only $144. And it'll beat a M98 any day any place.

good point, but still..some people like Tippmans cuz of their durability and unique shape. If you put a Tippman next to any other gun, you'll know it's a tippman. Spyders and Pirahnas have alot of simmilarities. I will say i am biased towards spyders cuz i own one and love how they perform. I'm not saying that Tippmans can't do that..i'm saying it's all personal preference.

well....okay..heres what i have to say about da tippman vs other guns. da other day.....i was playin outlaw ball....and.....the majority of da day i played with my friends shutter or my tippman. they have their own good characteristics...and cons...da tippmann is more durable...and its SO FRICKIN fast...with my trigger mods to my gun.....i can snap off about 10 rounds a second...but i also love the feel of the shutter. the grip....fore grip/xchamber...and da double trigger...i loved snap shooting with it, but could only pull off about 4-5 shots a second with it. it all depends on personal choice. even though i love my tippmann...i bet i can get it like the shutter if i add a double trigger and a drop forward...but im not...im goin for a cocker.!

Piranha's are the best. Spyders come second and ocasionaly tie with first. Tippmanns are near the end. Anyone who disagrees is a retard or has their head up their @$$.

:p
I'm sitting here with a dual degree in Journalism and Anthropology, have won several awards for investigative reporting, opinion writing and photography, have a job probably making a lot more than you do, and you're gonna call me Retarded because I don't have any grief on a Tippman ... Son, I think you need to reevaluate your life ... Or at least get one.:p

You dont have to be against tippmanns. Just realize that they arnt as good as they seem. A M98 should cost $80 because of its performance. A Pro/Carbine should cost maybe $100.

Nick, Get a Clue ... Not everyone here shares your opinion. Instead of trying to pick a fight because some of us, even though we don't own Tippmans, thing it's a good marker. You may not think so, you may hate them, but you should keep the inflamatory comments to yourself. OK. That way everyone gets along and not calls you a DUFUS  ! OK.

Don't get me wrong you as well as everyone else is intitled to you own opinion.and were not asking you to not share it!
just try to refrane from putting someone else down because they may not agree with you, thats all

Sorry guys. My bad. A tippmann would be a good buy if it were $50 less. But at the prices now, Piranhas give much more performance and have a future with upgrades. They also cost less. :)
