more than likely...you have your cocking rod set to long.....probably when you took it out you moved the back part out...so now the lug doesn't catch the sear...
check out the link in FAQ autocockers.....they explain every problem you can have and how to fix it...

woawoawoawoawoa.. ok hold on..
you pull the cocking knob back? when exactly are you doing this?.. before you gas it up? after?.. some people like to pull the back block back before they start, it does help a little, but not hugely, as long as you dont get a ball in the chamber before you shoot it for the first time.. now in general though, you shouldnt be pulling anything back.. so .. when is it that you are pulling it back? the gun IS gassed up, right?

I always pull my cocking rod back so that it is cocked before gasing it up....takes the hammer off the valve and avoids a gas leak ...I think thats what he means....he can cock it by hand......but the ram doesn't re cock it.....to long of a cocking rod...shorten it....by twisting in the back on to the rod until when the ram is all the way back the bolt clears the feed port and the sear catches the lug.....or it won't cock or load a paint ball....
Like I said before check out that link it explains it very well....

Hey guys, I also posted a diagram that might prove helpful in the FAQ thread, so check it out. I'm glad the document is helping...
