I had an opportunity to buy a Rainmaker at K-mart for $225 cuz they discontinued them, but the damn store clerk told me I couldn't buy it cuz HE was buying it and took it right outta my hands and checked it out for himself! I'm not going back to K-mart.

you they are not supposed to do that. You should go back, and talk to the store manager or something. I'm sure that person will get in big trouble for it (under stocking)

how good is a rainmaker? And what are some unique features it has?

Their pretty good gun considering who made them their easy to maintain they shoot n2 or co2 I've even seen them run off of the little 12 gram things:drop: they use cocker thread for their barrels so replacing the sucky factory one is easy and as long as you stay away from B.E. paint they don't break any more paint then a Shocker. There's a lot of little things good about them too, but also some bad, mostly that they are a loud marker even with a 14" Dye Boomstick. If your just starting out or don't want to spend 1,000 or more for an Angel or Shocker but want an electro you might consider trying one.

Off the internet is the best place right now. The main retailer for new rainmakers is Wal-mart or K-mart although I've never seen one for sale there. As for the similarties to a cocker they use the same barrell and the air flow inside the gun is somewhat the same, other then that its pretty unique. I've heard of a diffierent reg called an Icebox you can use for one and the gripframe has a screw hole in the front where a mag vertical ASA adaptor can be put in. I have a Rainmaker I that i'm trying to sell since I want a Ricochet 2k hopper for my STO.

:D
I bought a Rainmaker from www.dropzone-paintball.com. It came with the the fullauto and three-shot burst mode. I added a lighting bolt, regulator and a VL2000. The last time I took it out for rec ball I had some old RPS paint I wanted to get rid of. I shot over a 1,000 round son full-auto and didn't break a ball. We play at a large field and I had a lot of paint to get rid off so was fun firing that much.

I think the Rainmaker is a good way to get started on an electirc triggered gun if you don't have a lot of money to spend. I also use a Smart Parts All American Cocker barrel on it.

I think the Rainmaker would make you an excellent gun. As a Brass Eagle dealer www.dropzone-paintball.com will give you great service on your gun.

I hope this helps.

i really like the rainmaker. i could trade my cocker with extras for a hooked up rainmaker. they look very nice and you don't see many. I also really like the need of a battery. the vertical feed is sweet.

if I could find a Rainmaker with cocker shroud, stickie grips and/or a new 45 frame, A new barrel, A front regulator or grip, and a decent seup in the back of it then i'd trade

Don't you think there is a reason you don't see many rainmakers?

The ones I have seen were not worth the cash. They might be an alright gun, but I wouldn't buy one.

And I know you like how they look, but I mean, there are better guns out there. A LOT better guns. Heck, there are better blow backs then the rainmaker. Now this is all my own opinion, and I might add I have a very low opinion of ALL B.E. products, but thats just me. BE products are known for breaking down. Yes there are a lot of BE products that don't break down, but I am going from my own experience, and that of my friends. Rainmakers are a relatively cheap price for a reason. They are more likely to break down then any other electro paintball gun.

DOn't buy a gun solely based on its looks.

But hey, if you are dead set on a Rainmaker, then may God have mercy on your soul.

It sounds like you never even touched a Rainmaker, BE guns are really easy to fix IF they do break down.

For christ's sake buy it! It IS an electro and probably the cheapest there is. It has very unique features (not really bad ones either!) but I totaly forgot them all because I am buying something else now.

Get it, but dont get rid of your autococker.

Here is a great FAQ site for the rainmaker... http://www.warpig.com/paintball/technical/paintguns/rainmaker/rainmakerfaq.shtml

I bought a rainmaker, It is actually my first and only gun. It is a few years old and I got it for 70 bucks. The only thing that has gone wrong with is the battery went dead. I thought that guns was messed up because of everyone saying it has so many parts... Blah they are all ignorant of the way the gun is constructed. It is simple and easy to clean and repair if I ever have to... another good site is www.dropzonepaintball.com for replacement parts. The only prob I am having is that I want a after market regulator mounted on this bad boy, and they are harder to find. Finally found one on ebay... I have used mine on burst, semi, and full auto, but I leave it on semi because I can pull the trigger as fast as my wallet can take... I would recommend it, but it almost sounds like your current gun may be nice and your just looking for a change and sick of the usual guns on the field. I would recommend using one before trading man...
