if you have lots of maple tree saplings, you can cut them down all down and pile them up.
fern bushes work awesome.
I don't know what kind of plant it is but it looks kinda like a blueberry bush and has pokies all over it , and they get up to 10'. They work really good for brush bunkers.
Go to a sporting good store and buy some 80 lb. braid or parachute cord from cabela's, and then you can pull a whole bunch of bushes together and then tie them together.
BUt it really depends on what kind of plants you have. What kind of plants/bushes do you have?

Make hedgerows ... find a group of young saplings, you want to thin them out, leaving one every 3-5 feet. Take the ones you cut down and weave them through the trees you leave standing, so it looks like a fence. To secure them, take some nylong corde and tie them to the saplings you leave standing.
As for stuff you can plant to make natural bunkers ... Boxwood grows fast and big in temperate climates, You might also
try planting some cane or bamboo thickets (also grow fast). and of course, take advantage of the
natural landscape by digging shallow trenches along existing thickets or large trees.

Well, there is mostly just trees and every now and then a fallen tree and some bushes. Thats pretty much all of the stuff out there. Except in this one area, there is a TON of ferns.
