the most important thing that you wanna upgrade is the barrel. I suggest the Lapco Bigshot or the JJ Ceramic barrel. After that, you might wanna go low pressure, or other things. But a barrel is the most important thing that you could do to your gun.

I've got the STS, so far I've added a drop forward and microline kit. Also, like TL said, consider getting a new barrel. I'd also look into an Expansion chamber if you're shooting CO2. It's not necessary, I don't have one. If you're having problems with liquid CO2 getting in your gun, an ex chamber probably would be an important upgrade.

My next big purchase is going to be a Nitro tank.

well instead of an expansion chamber, i'd get a anti siphon tube and a regulator instead. the Anti siphon tube prevents the liquid Co2 from entering the gun, and if it does, the regulator will expand it as well as regulate the air coming in, so you get more consistancy.

The Lapco Bigshot looks nice. I see people saying it is a little loud. How loud is it compared to the stock barrel on a Piranha STS G2?

yeah? you think it's better than Bigshot? Anybody else think the same? If i were to get the bigshot, the sound wouldn't be too big of a deal because i play on my own course behind my house. Thanks for the help.. keep it coming!

big shot is an awsome barrel. if you are willing to spend enough to get it buy it. The big dhot is a little loud because it doesnt have porting, but accuracy comes first right?

So..i am now torn between getting a bigshot or a razzor 2-piece.

I bought the Bigshot for my GT-2000. I heard it was a loud barrel, but I was extremely surprised by the noise reduction of my gun when i shot it the first couple of times. It was noticeably more silent than my stock barrel and extremely accurate and precise. I highly recommend it.

The bigshot is a very nice barrel, despite the loudness, I've seen alot of high end gun owners use them as well

Ive got a Piranha BTL G2 and ive got a J&J Ceramic. Its quiet and as long as you use the right paint its VERy accurate. Id consider it

ohh you may want to consider a CP barrel if you use odd sized paint because they come in 3 bore sizes.

hey man, no offense, but are you sure the Regulator also allows the CO2 to expand, everything I've read seems to suggest that it just Regulates and doesn't act in any way as an expansion chamber ... but hey, I could be wrong here. :D

I love Bigshots. I think quietness in barrels is way overated. Its really cool to have somthing super quite but accuracy is where its at.
On upgrades think about what can be moved to a higher end gun. If you spend $75.00 for a bolt it isn't likely to add to your guns resale value. Think regulators or revolution loader that can go on any gun. You may decide you want to upgrade earlier than you think. Keep all your stock parts & boxes because it all helps you resale later. The barrel is your exception to the rule but most of those have adaptors etc.

A drop foward and a new barrel will do you fine for now.]

First get a barrel, I recommend the PMI Razzor, this is a great barrel and trust me when I say that I have used them all. Porting is very important when using a high pressure gun like the Piranha (850 psi), the ball is accelerating in the first 3 inches of the barrel, after that the barrel is only guiding the ball so you want the air out to get rid of the turbulance around the ball...thus the porting, this is the reasoning behind a 2 piece.

Next I would recomend a drop forward, I recommend the PMI cradle. This will dramaticly change your guns feel, you can tuck the gun closer to you and it will be way more ballanced.

Other things that I would add would include a flush cocking system (then you can take off the sight rail allowing you to look down the body and barrel of the gun for a sight.), compressed air is a great addition, a 12 volt revolution is an awesome thing, and I would get rid of the ram air chamber and get a normal chamber on there (I have found that the ram air does more harm than good due to the fact that when you shoot fast the piston inside can't keep up.)
