I've done some paintball before with my friend's gun which was an Armson pump and I've found the site for it, but was wondering if anyone has found one anywhere else in the country. Also, what kind of upgrades or things should I buy for the gun. I'd like to keep overall cost under $500.00 (mainly cause that's all I got). If there is anyone who has a suggestion on if there is a better gun, I would appreciate it.

For $500 you can get some pretty nice stuff. I'd look into a used gun, mainly because they're already upgraded and cost alot less. You can find some really nice automags for under $300.

I would do that, but I here pumps are a bit more accurate than the semis and autos. I was looking into a rainmaker, but deicded it was way to expensive (the one I saw was like $700.00) so I decided to stick with sniper-like tactics. Cheaper too. Don't have to spend a lot on CO2 and the ammo

If you want a pump, I'm sure there's someone on this site or http://www.pbnation.com that has one, collecting dust. Just post a "Want to Buy: Used Pump" in the For Sale forum. You can probably get one for $100 or so..I dunno much about pumps retail value.
Semi autos are accurate, and there's always "accuracy by volume"! Make sure a pump gun is what you want and you don't end up wanting a semi two months later.

Oh man, 500 for a starter pckage? very awesome man, you can get some really great stuff for that much. But i got to ask, where will you be playing? like field? or in the wwoods with friends?
If its a real field i recomend renting till you know you want a good marker. ok,once you know you want to play alot, buy whats called a smart parts Impulse, it's a nice marker, workers on CO2 well, there are nicer, but those require nitro. Anyway, get a 20 oz CO2 tank, and a on/off valve. Go to a local pro shop and have them put in an antisiphon tube in your tank. Mask wise, JT spectras. Hopper wise, only a 12 volt will do.
All this will cost you 520 on www.firstcallpaintball.com
If you just playing in the woods, get a tippman 98 custom

I started out with a pump gun too. There are a lot of better guns out there. They go up into $2000 stock. Right now i have an autococker. You should find a field to play at. Then get a gun. I like pump guns for begginers b/c it teaches you that there is more to paintball then just who can through the most paint. When you use a pump gun you learn stratygies to playing the game. I first got a BS tigershark (thats right brass eagle). I started playing at fields then got a aci maverik with a 16" prolite barrel, bottum line attatchment and venturi bolt. I took it a part and found out how it worked. You will eventually figure out that you will need a semi auto gun to keep up with the other guns in speedball. This is when you get to the better guns.
I'd recomend you start out with a pump gun. There the most accurate guns you get. Experiment with it. Try new things. Then move on to a spyder, pariahna, or tippmann. You'll learn as you go. I really liked my maverik, try that or another pump gun. Don't spen a lot of money on your pump gun. Save it up to get a good semi-auto when you start to learn more.
Have FUN!!!

b/c they were a bit quieter when you cocked. I usually just play in the woods, not on real fields. We have this really big thing of woods, tall grasses , water, swamp, and open grass in my back yard and around so we played there. This will be my first gun and I've used both semis (Tippman98 ProCarbine or something like that) and the Armson which is kinda like my obession. It was quiet as heck (I mouted my own supressor; handmade) and very, very accurate. Not a lot of balls broke either, and I used only like ten rounds per game. I'm a sniper in case you're wondering. That's what I'm good at b/c I have slow reflexes, so I just wait for somebody to happen by and then shoot them.
