JTs new mask, I think it looks cool as hell. Profile is supposed to be smaller, comes with one of their neato x-wind fans, and supposed to be able to hear better with those odd looking ear things. I think it's kinda cool, but then again I'm a big fan of the spectra line's looks, compared to some other butt ugly masks that everyone seems to be making these days *cough*raven*cough. Just wonderin what everyone else thinks about it, and remember, you saw it from Twitcho first... unless you checked the JT site...

i think that it looks cool. It's going to be pretty expensive though...yeah i think it takes Spectra lenses..the goggle shape is identical.

Yeah, it takes the Spectra lens ... also, the Ear pods swivel, so you can turn it back to hear what your back players are saying, or forward to hear the guys in front of you ... Is it just me or does that thing look sorta like the Helmets the TIE fighters wore in Star Wars??

What edition is that, Piranha? I've got March 2001 and it isn't in there.

I think I'm gonna get it in a few months when I get the money together, the more I look at it, the better it looks. And yeah, it's a spectra

yeah i think i'll stick to my Flex 7..:D hasn't failed me yet, so why change it? :

I duno, I just want that mask so much. To me it looks like the visor would deflect alot more paint than the flex-7 visor because it goes a bit higher (Flex-7 visor in my experiences just deflects paintballs onto your forehead where it does indeed break :) ). Besides, I dont need nothing for my gun, and I'm a compulsive spender, hehe

Its looks better being worn than just sitting there.

And it does come with a fan. So thats, what, $40 right there?

elTwitcho
02-24-2001, 10:37 PM
Yeah Watupi knows what's up :) And who knows, you could lean out a bunker, and your opponent may have a shot on you, but you shoot him while he is sitting there thinking "Is that a spaceman?". Really though, for a mask, protection (JT is the best, and part of their buyout contract was that BE couldnt f*ck with their products) and looks are the most important, and since JT has the protection, i really like the looks, and the fan means your mask will never fog, and may even keep your face cool. Definately gonna be my next purchase after a freak barrel system. Probably in like 6 months (Skyball is destroying my bank account)

I hear you elTwitcho. I want one, but I need all the money I can get for entry fee and paint. Plus, my matrix wants me to ano it.

elTwitcho
02-25-2001, 08:52 AM
Yeah, with my skyball fee and paint, I coulda bought a freak set, or an armageddon, or a couple of those cool masks... but if I spent all my money upgrading, I'd never get a chance to play, and I know more than a few people in that position.

Went to JT's website and checked under their whats new section.

It had the new Spectra nForcer which looks exactly like an nVader mask (The one I currently use and like), only difference being it takes Spectra Accessories.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the MSRP on this mask was, as I may sell my nVader and get this one, depending on how much it is.

elTwitcho

lol, you better sell your nVader and your marker if you're hopin to buy this with money from sales alone. 149, as it says throughout the post (ya shoulda read it man ), most epxensive mask I've seen to date

that could work to your advantage, especially if you shout some Alien sounding Gibberish as soon as you see the guy ... "Kreagh Bundaloo Zaphod Beeblebrox" might freak him out enough that he surrenders on the spot  !

That's a nice looking mask but unfortunately it comes with a big price. What's the name of this mask by the way?

What a wonderful new thing (note the sarcasm) for more people to waste their money on. Whats next?....a $200 neck guard that is made out of kevlar and platinum for looks? I mean come on!! Ill stick with my $15 JT Airstream and Antifog spray that both work perfectly.

elTwitcho

Well my man, that's you, I think it's worth the money to have a smaller profile and to look good

Yea and while we are complaining about expensive stuff $700, $800, $1,400 for a marker; no way. EVERYONE should be forced to play with $30 rebuilt stringray. (note the sarcasm) ;) If poeple like something and have the money for it why not buy it. Diversity is our friend.

If you can't afford it now, work up to it. My first mask was an nVader, and it's a good mask for the money ... but, I decided I wanted something a little better, so I splurged on a Nuvis. And next, I'll splurge on an Automag ... When the time and money comes.

elTwitcho
02-26-2001, 06:04 PM
Nuvis, isnt that by Raven... knew I shouldnt have called ravens ugly at the beggining of the post... But like I said, when you get to the point that you've spent enough on your marker to buy a used car, looks do become important, because the cost, when measured against the cost of your marker, is nothing. Besides, it's my experience, that if you feel good, you'll play good :)

make it all white and get a white suit then you'd look like something out of star wars.It will come down in price after a while. Till Raven comes out with another mask that kicks butt.

I wish someone would come out with a mask that is so Hideously, fearsome ugly that the mere sight of it intimidates and scares the Hell out of the other players, causing them to flee the field for their very lives ... Oh, wait, Maybe I should just take the mask off

elTwitcho

Muck, you're scaring the children man... put that mask back on :)

Went to JT's Web site last night, http://www.jtusa.com, they've once again redesigned it. But, they've got the Proteus and new nForcer displayed in the "What's New" section.

The nForcer is a nVader with a Spectra lens in it. If I'd known they were gonna do that, I' wouldn't have bought a nVader, because the main drawback to that mask is the limited field of vision with the Elite lens.
Sheesh!

Also, they've got their new E-Motion pads on display, they look purty sharp.
