Ok i recently bought a Rat hole ss hammer , Slick shot ram, and a GMFV to add on to may werm delrin bolt and VFF. the imp is a older version with the old style board.

Before my gun used to shoot with out any kick and i got pretty good shots per fill and consitensy at 180 psi.

Now with the new upgrades there is a lot of recoil and i cant get the gun shoot under 300 fps with out lowering the pressure to about 50 psi.

this is also draining my tank very fast.

Anyone have any suggestions ?

its normal. with new parts you change the weight of the gun and how it cycles. just find the optimum dwell settings with this setup. take a few minutes with a chrono and adjust it

thats correct (above) Lower your dwell. you have lighter internals so you dont need as much punch to move it. So lower the dwell then chrono it.

Yeah i though about that to i put my dwell all the way down and i still can not get it to shoot under 300 fps unless i lower it to 50 psi.

Could it be a problem with my maxflow ? or is this normal.

Are you saying that when you adjust the dwell, you are getting no real change in veloicity?

On an old board, if the dwell is set around the 4:00 setting, the gun almost won't fire!

I think you have a problem!

Belive it or not, this MAY NOT be a board problem. We have seen this happen with guns that have the solenoind spring problem. Have you every messed with the spring in the solenoid? (I ask becasue I know that a number of posters have been advocating this as an "upgrade")

Before we start ripping on the board, I suggest you get the correct spring from SP and install it. I am sure you can get it for free if you ask them.

Do you have any freinds that have 'pulses? I ask because the easiest way to "trouble shoot" this is with someone else's grip frame. Simply swap your grip frame with one on another Impulse, and see if you still have the problem.-- if you do, we KNOW its the solenoid. If the problem follows the grip frame (the other impulse shoot very hot with your frame) then we know that its in the board.

Hope this helps!
