yeah, the gun is uspposed to be accurate and the stock it suppoed to give a lot of supports. Buying it in the 98 Sniper name is cheaper than buying each accessory by itself. It the Tippman 98 quiet? Is the flatline quiet too? How about the stcok, is it any good? I need to know these things!!! Expensive gun for me, although it might be cheap for some. Yeah, is this gun any good, give me any first hand expieriances.

Yes, it is going to be very loud w/ what it has there.

The stock is comfortable and in best position, but can get in the way when in confined areas (i.e. speedball).

Accurate, yes. That and good distance.

I don't like the flatline, I have my own little setup that really works for me... I could tell you "Oh this is good" or "Oh man this sucks" but really it's up to you, I can sit here all day and talk **** about the flatline or the Broomstick... either way, I say you look for stuff that's affordable and slowly upgrade from there...

Ok, I hoped I wouldn't need to do this. But since this entire forum is full of these childish posts, I guess you'll need this.

It's a review I did for the flatline, it will give you a good idea on it's accuracy with it's range. Can also be found at www.countypaintball.com

Test:
-Tippmann Classic E/Model 98 (w/ a list of upgrades too long to list).
-Barrel, of course... flatline. Shroudless.
-Paint, Diablo Hellfire, brand new, inspected for as perfectly rounded ones as possible.
-Temperature, 78*
-Wind, none to very slight and almost unnoticable breeze.
-Gas source, 88ci 3k preset Crossfire carbon-fiber wrapped nitro tank, all the way full to 3000.
-Hopper, Ricochet (no purpose to mention for the test, but I love this hopper)
-Target, 3'X 3' cardboard square. Cut to precise measurements.

Ok now, Start of the test. I had a clamped down Tippmann E/M98. My first 10 shots, 50 feet away. Each shot with a 2 second interval to accomidate for best recharge. -Shot grouping of 5.7 inches. All 10 paintballs hit

Second group of 10 shots, 75 feet away. Again, each shot with a 2 second interval. -Shot grouping of 13.2 inches. All 10 paintballs hit, again.

Third group of 10 shots, 150 feet away. Again, each shot with a 2 second interval. -Shot grouping of 25.9 inches. All 10 paintballs hit target.

Fourth group of 10 shots, 200 feet away. Again, each shot with a 2 second interval. -Shot grouping of 36 inches. 8 out of 10 paintballs hit target.

**Note, you'll notice when shooting that the balls will initially take a slight, but quick little dip down after it exits the barrel. However, after a few feet, the backspin and everything will kick in properly, and the ball will travel in a very flat trajectory.
Conclusion, pretty accurate within reason. However, after about 150 feet, they can be accurate, but some will fly by. Tip is, if one's to aim, aim for the torso of a person, and not the goggles.
Now, the flatline can be this good... IF INSTALLED PROPERLY!!! I keep hearing people complain about their flatline at fields I'm at, but once I re-install it for them, they love it. Some people just have it off center, or they didn't put the barrel in all the way. Whatever it is, be sure that it's installed properly. And I personally suggest to NOT use the shroud. The shroud can throw the barrel off-center, making the paintballs become less accurate and fly off. Plus, it's harder to inter-change barrels when the shroud is being used.
And if you're one to complain about it being too long, or think it's too long and haven't even used/seen it in person. Truth is, it's as long as a 14" barrel. It just looks longer than it actually is. However, it is still not recommended to use this barrel when a frontman in speedball. This is a great barrel for snipers, recballers, and backplaying speedballers. Otherwise, if you play the front line or close-encounter sup'air ball, I don't suggest the use of a flatline.

As stated, it's how you install it. But from the sound of Mattdog, he either didn't install one properly... or as I believe, he's just flaming the flatline without any experience with it just for the fact that he likes to flame.

Nice!....

I don't like to sniper and I enjoy being more in the game and that's a reason I don't like the flatline.... not saying that the flatline is for snipering only, I mean it's great and I have tried one out and I did enjoy it but like I said, it's not me... The gun is too long... either way if you have a friend that has it, trie it out, see if you like it... you will always have someone saying that it sucks or that it's good, try it out and see for yourself... if not ask ppl that have it, it's the only way to know for sure....

Current Setup:
Lapco Bigshot
ProTeam Intruder Assault X-Chamber
20 oz Co2 tank w/ on/off
Full Boar RVA/RC
Psycho Ballistics Billet Power Tube and Front Bolt

That's me... hehehe... This setup works great for me, of course it all really depends on the person behind the gun, but I feel happy... I love my Tippy...
