Ya gotta be kidden me! What idiot is gonna vote for the J&J over the Boomstick! HA! Only a newbie who thinks the boomstick is a broomstick.

ok if you mean the DYE aluminum vs j&j ceramic it makes alot more cents. But if you really mean boomstick well... its definatly THE "in" barrel and the J&J never stood a chance.

I have a tl+, I played for a day with my stock barrel, then last week I got a j&j ceramic...and I have noticed significant improvement in accuracy.

I can't imagine the difference between a j&j and boomstick being so much to justify the more than double in price...especially if you're relatively new. The way I see it is, just get the cheaper one...try it, if you think it's not accurate enough, or cool enough or whatever, and you come across the money to upgrade to the boomstick, THEN sell the j&j on ebay or somewhere (they sell for more on ebay than I paid for mine new), and get the boomstick...

One philosophy I've always had is that you should upgrade in steps, don't just start with the nicest possible setup out, that way you know what a bad setup, mediocre setup, decent setup, and nice setup is like...

but YES, I can guess the difference between the stock spyder barrel and the boomstick (or j&j ceramic, or lapco bigshot) will be significant, and an upgrade is definitely worth the money. It can reduce noise, increase accuracy, and overall appearance of the marker.

J&J are good barrels but i would prolly do this... Think what paint youll be likely to use. IE, if you go to a field what do they use or what do you use in rec games. If your goina be shootin alot of marbs then get a boomie otherwise pick a barrel that will fit the paint youll be using alot. I know there is a barrel-to-Paint chart somewhere, mabe someone will be kind enough to repost the link.

An expensive barrel will perform just like any other if you shoot the wrong paint through it.

I shoot Marbs so i would be best off shooting wit the boomer right

if u shoot marbs than definatly get a boomstick. The boomstick is a .688 barrel, while most medium bores are a .689 Marbs are made to fit in a .688 barrel, i.e. the boomstick. If you shoot marbs, then only get a boomstick and nothing else.

well...if you shoot marbs, then the JJ CEramic is the perfect fit..i've shot 2 cases throught without a break..and marbs are .686. They are small bore, not med. bore. If you do descide to get a Boomer, then Marbs are very good for that barrel. Perfect paint/bore match.

yah but my friend shot some marbs and some pmi premium through his boomstick and found the marbs to shoot perfectly, but the pmi had a couple of breaks, he only shot a hoper of each too.

TLplus84

that's cuz PMI Perfect paint is med bore, and Marbs are small bore, and the Boomstick is a small bore barrel. The PMI perfect were too big for the boomstick, so they broke.

A damn fool

The boomstick is the better barrel, but not buy much, i have shot them both, and have noticed aded accuracry, but not much over the j&j. If u have the money, get the boomstick, ull love it, but if not, the second barel out of ever barrel is the j&j

The Smart Parts Big Daddy is soposed to be like a boomstick with a medium bore. Is this true? And the PMI Razor 2 piece is soposed to be able to compet with it as well. Its just that I never see a cocker with a razor or big daddy, ya know.

Why buy a boomstick when for only a little bit more you can get a freak system, which is the most accurate barrel system in existance (because you ALWAYS have a perfect paint match). Though the Aluminum boomstick is less than the freak by a good deal, if you buy the freak you'll never need another barrel again, you want different lengths you can even buy 2 different ends in different lengths. God I cant wait till I have the money for a freak :)

At my field they only have pro-Ball so thats why i want the
j&j ceramic barrel

good point, I like your way of thinking, lol. The freak system does look awsome and I hope to own it one day.

The freak system is awsome if you are rich. And if you are a tourny player. For the reck player it is useless. Go with the boomstick over the j&j.

People dont understand, because most of them just hear big names, and they are please. My old 14 Truflight barrel was HARDLY just a little less accurate then my friends boomstick. Their over rated. Now between the J&J and the boomstick i say go with the J&J they are light, VERY Quiet and Dead on accurate if youve got the other components and a good bore match. IT IS THE BARREL

Editors Note: These are all just very strong OPINIONS :D

Boomy obviously.

The most expensive things are always overrated.

I agree with You Joel but you cant compare a J N J with a Boomy

I would have to say to go with the Boomstick. I got bored while playing once so I decided to switch guns with another kid. He used a Piranha, Shocktech drop forward, and a J&J Ceramic. It shot pretty well, except you could see a significant difference between that and my Boomstick. My local field is FPO, so we had to use PMI Premium. I'd say that the Boomstick is better. I'm not sure why, but the PMI Premium that I got in my room seems to fit in my Boomstick quite loosely. Is it actually supposed to be real tight? As in can't-quite-blow-it-out tight?

elTwitcho: Uh... Freak Systems are like $240 or so, that's about 2x as much. It's great for a barrel though, definitely. :)

TLplus84

that's queer...PMI should be tight on a boomstick..unless you bought a Med. BOre one. I think tha'ts what you have, cuz Marbs are perfect fit on my friend's boomtstick, and Marbs are small bore.

Hsuve

What's really strange is that PMI Premium really WAS tight the first time I bought it. Now it's kinda loose and is easily pushed or blown out. I didn't specify a bore size, I got my Boomstick from paintballbarrels.com

NickR

Where can you get a medium bore boomstick? I want a boomstick but my field uses PMI Premium. I thought all boomers were small bore.

Again I stress My point..DYE BARRELS ARE THE ****

I've shot a boomstick, and I thought that it wasn't as good as most people make it out to be.

I would get the jj because the boomstick would have to be about 2-3 times better than the jj before I bought it because it costs 2-3 times more.

buy the j&j and put something else worthwhile into your gun...an extra $50 can get u an AKALMP Lightning Bolt
