I dont have my Rebel anymore, but it treated me well and to many exciting games. Rebels are simple markers, similar to all your standard blowbacks. Ex) Spyders, Piranhas, Ect. They have basically the same design. The trigger is pulled, the sear releases the hammer. Air then travels to the bolt. AS the hammer goes forward, the bolt does as well. The pressure kicks the bolt back into the cocked position after every shot. If you have any questions about Rebels, and rebels only, post them here.

I just bought a Rebel Limited Edition, and as this is my first decent marker, I want to be able to take care of it correctly. Could I get a few tips or pointers on cleaning and oiling it, so as to keep it going in pristene condition? Thanks alot for your help!!

I am not too familiar with LE's but with mine, after each day of play, I oil and clean the bold, hammer, and sear. I whipe off the outside to keep it shiney. Before i play, I take off the barrel and run a few drops of oil throuh the gun (about 30 Shots), and i squeggee my barrel, to get rid of any unwanted things. Hope I helped!

I've had my Rebel LE for a few months and have dealt with many issues regarding parts and operation. When I first started using the gun without a Revy, I chopped so many paintballs that I decided upon purchasing a Shocktech Spyder Quickstrip Bolt also. I figured that since the LE is rear cocking and accepts Spyder barrels, that it would also accept the bolt -- WRONG. I live near Paintball-Online.com, so I went there with my LE and tried out the Shocktech -- it didn't fit lengthwise and the pin to the striker was too big. Once I got my Spyder Compact, I confirmed the fact that Spyder bolts do not fit the Rebel LE. The overall length, bolt/striker pin location, and gas inlet hole are all different on the two different bolts. I think the only solution is to buy a factory replacement. Good luck

if you are using c02 i would get an expansion chamber, if i am wrong, please correct me. But i think an expansion chamber would be good so your shots will be consistant and wont shoot different distances and have velocity spikes. Besides that, i dont know much other things to help you get more distance, besides low pressure but i dont know how to do that. If i was wrong on any of this...... please correct me. Thanks.

I am a complete newbie to paintball, and I know I sound really naive, but what is a revy as referenced in an earlier post?
what does it do and what is the estimated cost? .. thanks

a revvy is a Revolutionary hopper. It has little motors that feed the balls into the gun faster so you dont chop paintballs. they are about 40-50 $$

chrishaolin
09-06-2001, 01:46 PM
thanks man i appreciate it. so would any rebel LE owners strongly recommend getting a revy or am I okay without it??

-RuShPB227-
09-06-2001, 01:57 PM
you might want to get one, i dont have one for my rebel, but if you shoot really fast you might want one to prevent (or mostly prevent) chopping a ball. I am about to get one i think, it wouldnt be a bad idea to get one, but it might not be nessessary, so u might not want to. k, hoped i helped, peace.:blah:

After my experiences with the Rebel LE, I would highly suggest getting a Revolution. The side-mounted vertical feed doesn't seem to stack enough balls for any amount of sustained rapid fire. Other Rebel models with the powerfeed probably don't have the same problem because there is a stack of balls in the powerfeed, elbow, and hopper neck ready to go. Because the side-mounted vertical feed is so short on the Rebel LE, basically what you have is what is in the hopper neck and maybe 2 more in the vertical feed. I played for a while without one and chopped plenty of balls, but the Revolution helped stop that.
If I were you, I'd play for a while to see if you have a problem chopping balls. If not, why spend the money if you don't need to?

Okay, thanks.. are there any other modifications I can
make to the Rebel LE in order to maximize efficiency and
minimize problems that may occur frequently with the gun?

sw3253
09-07-2001, 02:42 PM
Other than the chopping balls thing, I really haven't had any major problems with the Rebel LE. I got a new barrel which improved accuracy and quieted it down. Other than that, just make sure you don't lose the feed plug.
Have fun!

Most likely. I have a 32* 6 stage on mine and I have seen them on model 98s and other markers. I am almost positive it will work, Check with other people also though.

i have a rebel deluxe and my friend has a bottomline,
he's had his gun since january of 2001 and i got mine bout 3 weeks ago. his gun just blew the cup seal and the sear and the bumper. he has only put about 2300 shots through it. he has kept it decently oiled, he oiled it alot the first time and has recently oiled it but none others besides that. please reply to tell me if you own a rebel deluxe and if you do does it have the same problems as the bottomline. checking the reviews a few people say it does but most don't comment on it.

if it does blow cup seals and sears and bumpers, can you please tell me how to keep my gun functioning as long as possible without these new replacement parts

any help is greatly appreciated thanks

If the bolt flew forward and chopped the paintball, then my guess is that your bolt is stuck in the forward position. I've had this happen a few times and it was a pain in the arse to pull the bolt back in order to clear the jam. It may take a while -- or even help from a friend -- to pull that bolt back. Good luck.

you might want to get some water in there to try and dissolve the gelatin shell. Be sure to take the marker apart afterwards and clean and oil it thoroughly

11-30-2001, 08:19 PM
you should proabbly disasemble the gun (make sure its degassed of course) and remove the hammer and bolt. If you cant get them out, give them a slight pull and they should come out. If they dont you might have to work with it for a while. you probably have shell stuck in there or the spring might be stuck (its happened). just take your gun apart and you should be able to find the problem. Peace :freak:

OK today I was playing paintball and all of the suden during a firefight my rebel would not recock! I knew it was not out of gAS because it didnt have the long sputter sound. Instead it had a very very brief stutter and no recock! I tried hooking up to a new tank but that didnt help. I took the bolt out and hammer and cleaned em off but that was no help! Any help would be greatly appreciated

its probably your sear, take off your grip frame and see the part that sticks out, thats the sear; if it has lots of wear and tear and you don't oil it will wear off. just call 32 degrees and tell them where you live and they will send you as many as you need for free. if you don't know the number, check their site www.32ice.com

i don't know if this will help but see ya

I used to have the same problem with my rebel. it seemed to me like the o-rings on the bolt made mine stick forward and some guy had borrowed my gun and put dow grease on it. I replaced the o-rings and put the right kind of oil on there and now it works fine. its my back-up now.

punkerx1,

I can't speak for the quiet riot, but I'm pretty happy with the Nite Stykk on my Rebel LE.
Also, I had a similar rapid fire issue one time. I knew it wasn't the gas or sear. I found the rear screw holding the trigger frame on had backed out a little. This caused the sear not to catch. Just an idea of something else to check. Good luck.

I just got 2 different paintball guns for x-mas. One is the Rebel Vertical and the other is the Brass Eagle Raptor LTD 2000.

It's been about 5 years since I have gone paintballing and these are my first ones so I am very new to this.

My big question is which one should I keep?? I have read a number of bad reviews of the Raptor LTD, yet it shoots 10 balls /second compared to the 6 balls/second the Rebel shoots.

The Raptor comes with an expansion chamber and a nice 14" barrel. The Rebel comes with neither of these. Apparently they cost the same price. They were both $100. MY wife gave me the Raptor and I got the Rebel at my company party last night.

Should I keep the Rebel??? I know this forum is biased, but which one has more upgrades to offer??

If I keep the Rebel, where would be the best place to get a nice expansion chamber and a pretty good barrel?? Which upgrades should I get?

I could use all the help in the world. Both of my brother-in-laws received the same combos of gifts for x-mas. I would really like to give them some advise too. (Like keep the less accurate gun)

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Id keep the Rebel, the Raptor (along with other Brass Eagle products) have been plauged (from my experience) straight from the factory. For the Rebel, you could get a CP One PIece barrel ($50) and an Expansion chamber ($30) from www.paintballgear.com, which would make it a pretty good gun. Oh and for more upgrades, BOb Long just came out with a new bolt for the Rebel, you can find that somewhere at www.888paintball.com

rios_creos
12-15-2001, 05:12 AM
yes, i also suggest keeping the rebel, and most other people will tell you the same thing. your wife's in for a suprise when you start spending a couple hundred bucks a month to go play:laugh: .

but my friend had a samuri (Brass Eagle) and it chopped balls like crazy, so he bought a raptor(brass eagle) that was okay until he started to shoot it for prolonged periods of time, also it was very very shiny and looked like a brick so he returned it (we play in the woods), and now he has a spyder 1, which he loves alot, he's put a new expansion chamber on it and is planning on getting a new barrel soon.

so i would say stay with the rebel, because you can get lots of cool stuff for it and no one will bash you for having a BE.
although i personally don't bash anyone no matter what gun they have, its the player that makes the gun.

oh and as for bps, the raptor is CAPABLE read* Capable of cycling 10 balls per second, but in reality the trigger pull is too hard to achieve any more than 4. while the rebel on the other hand, is known as having the shortest trigger pull of the low end blowbacks. 6 bps is what anyone can shoot with the rebel, i've been clocked pulling 8 (without a trigger job:D )

also, anyone else have a deluxe out there, and if they do, how hard is it to take out the pins in your trigger frame, for me its impossible, i think the only way to do it would be to put it in a clamp and beat it out with a chunk of titanium. when i try to use nails or allen wrenchs they just get bent out of shape.

thanks:)

-RuShPB227-
12-15-2001, 07:13 AM
i say go with the rebel because brass eagle has the worst reputation of all paintball products. you can get a j&j or CP barrel for about $50, shocktech drop forward about $35, 6 stage expansion chamber with fittings for like $40. After that you will have a nice setup. I used to have a Rebel and I had a 12" Teardrop on it. It shot pretty well but sometimes it did mess up. It was never hard to fix it though. Now I have my IMPY!:D..... I say if you have to pick between the 2, go for rebel.

Drax
12-15-2001, 07:27 AM
Thanks for the advise. After all that I have read over the net I am going to keep both guns, but make the Rebel my main weapon. I am thinking of trading my Rebel in for a Rebel LE. Would that be a good choice?

Do the barrels that fit the Rebel fit the Rebel LE? I figured I could save some money by buying a gun that came with an expansion chamber and bottomline, instead of buying them seperate. Plus if I go with the LE I won't have to mod my gun to a rear cocker.

I was looking at buying a 6 level expansion chamber from 888paintball.com, along with a terminator barrel, but they don't sell a bottomline kit that I saw there. It looks like they just sell the parts to make a bottom line.

Should I upgrade my Rebel or get a Rebel LE and just buy a new barrel?

My friend has a rebel and it always seems to act up evertime we go to play. It will sputter every 5 shots even on a full tank in addition to chopping paint. Sometimes it won't even recock. My friends cousin got a rebel and it did the same thing. They brought thier rebels into the shop and they say the people there fixed them, and that they worked fine in the shop, but everytime we go to play thier rebels are always screwing up. Can anybody tell me what the problem is? Are all rebels like this? And have other players encounterd similar problems? Please excuse my ignorance I'm used to tippmanns.

P8ntballer
12-15-2001, 02:34 PM

The stock barrel is bad, better than a stock spyder/pirahna but still bad. I have two for mine, a Lapco Bigshot and a 32* Nightstix, the Nightstix is quieter and cheaper, the Bigshot though shots more accurate but it's a lot louder, I don't mind, I'm not a sound freak or anything. A friend has the 32* Precision 16' it's very nice and quiet but I find it kinda long for MY taste, he just loves it. CP's are nice too.
You can use any oil that won't eat the o-rings and will not thick under cold temperature, I use the good ol' 3-1, $1 for the little tin can :) It's the one that my gf uses for her sewing machine. :D
I think the nicest way to lube your gun it's to disamble it and oil part by part, you can put a couple of drops in the asa too, but won't lube the bolt nice (wearing the body more quickly) and if you have the delrin bolt the oil will reach it more easily. I use white lithium for the valve, but that's just me, I like to use white lithium in everything I can.
go to 32ice.com and download the manual of your marker, you will need it. Mine didn't have one, maybe the newer models have.
Recommed upgrades:
1- New barrel
2- X-chamber
3- Nice drop forward (except in the R X it already has one) Psycho ballistics drop is sweet.
4- Delrin bolt

I use a 20onz in my Rebel X, but I will recommend a 16onz (short ones) with an smartparts on/off valve. Shorter tanks help you keep your marker closer to your body, especially with a PB drop forward, it balances to sweetly.
The best thing to get instead of the x-chamber and that you could get a small nitro tank preset 850, if you have the chance to get N2/Nitro fills go that way you won't regret it!

I had the same problem with me Rebel X, what I did is to screw the rear velocity adjuster all the way in, push it in, and then the screw came a little less tight and push it all the way out and *puff* all the internals all over the place  you can put some oil too in the screw too, it will help. I had to use my dremel to sand a little the little inner curve that the plug has, now I have no prob. dissambling it. Don't worry I went to the same thing having no idea how to take it appart. It's incredible that I had more troubles learning to dissamble my rebel than I did with my timmy :P thankx to twich for the guide.

That's a picture of the spare kit at countypaintball.com. You can download the manual *.pdf manual at http://www.32degrees.com/html/manuals.asp. Try changing the o-rings of the valve. I think the PT X doesn't have a "cupseal" but a washer instead, sorry for that.

Well some people are in my situation though, I am running my gun on a 16 ox chromolly, sp on/off with an anti-siphon, with a stabilizer for if I did get a hpa tank I would have no where to fill it up, not even the paintball fields around here, I would have to get a frekin suba tank and all that, and MJB weding won't let em loose with a tank under 4500 pounds of pressure! So i'm screwed for now! But if there was one around here I would in a sec! Hpa would be soo nice! Are u runnin yours on HPA? U got that down there in Costa Rica?! lol,jk I have no clue about there!

I tried to call the guy to go the championships (the next in april) but he is not interested in selling HPA for paintball. :|
I can't say it was easy to switch though, we tried for 2 months in talking to the gas company in here (the only one) to sell us the nitro or HPA at more then 2000psi but they didn't want to. The cool thing about a scuba is that is a lot easier to carry than a bulk tank. I have a 10kg bulk C02 too and man, is that hard to carry or what? I never take it to the field. You can take your own scuba to the field I guess. The only prob I've seen in US for scubas is that lots of stores won't sell you anything if you don't have a license. But I think it's worth trying. You can get one by internet.

Does anyone's Rebel Bottom line(no expansion chamber) ever shoot snow when the temp is a above 50?

ShutterSLug
02-11-2002, 01:09 PM
Yeah if you guys want to see the Core 22 stage expansion chamber go to www.paintball-online.com My bud and I both have it on our Shutters and we love it!!!(I seriously get around 400-500 more shoots on a 20oz co2 tank!) When I go to the Cronograph shot to shot velocity can be a differace of sometimes just 2f.p.s. when I fire like 6 shoots! My paintballs land right on top of each other too! Even when I pull of 8 shoots a sec.! I love it. It might also be that great velocity consistancy to because the Shutter has a reg. on it! But none the less I highly reccomend it! IT WORKS! I also think it is available for Tippmann c98's Spyders, Piranahas, REBELS:cool: , and many other guns also! Again www.Paintball-online.com it is 50 bucks!

Also on the same website there is a regulator + 11 stage kit. (very great if you want a reg. with your gun) for 100$!

I have two rebels less than 3 mos old. Oldest (xmas) has had less than 1000 rds thru it. It does that Pbbbbbbbbbbbbbb full auto fail to recock thing after the first few rounds go thru it. When I check it in the garage before I play, it does better but still not as it should. New, both performed flawlessly, and I fear the young un will develop the same problem. (I got it for a spare) I called 32 deg and TJ says if the sear is broken they would replace, but not if it had "normal wear". Both sears are slightly worn at the rear. Before I spend $ on parts or repairs, what are the suggestions? Send specific questions, I'll try to send specific answers.

Squid, to take it all apart, all you have to do is take out the field strip pin. Once you do this, the bolt and spring should come out. From the bottom part, you can tilt the gun back and get the hammer. Basically thats all on the gun except the sear, which all you have to do is take off the trigger frame.

So far my Rebel Vertical 2002 works fine but I was wondering how you remove the top cocking bolt from it if say, the o-ring on it breaks. The little pin thingy (im not talking about the quick disassembly pin) that you pull back on seems to be holding it in the gun, but I do not know how to remove it.

[i would get an expansion chamber, if i am wrong, please correct me. But i think an expansion chamber would be good so your shots will be consistant and wont shoot different distances and have velocity spikes.

no your wrong, that may help but a palmers stabalizer will work the best with a co2 setup, just get a reg, that makes the air more consistent, therefore tighter shot groupings, and better acuracy, without vilocity spikes. just trying to tell ya mmmkmay!

What are people's takes on the new 2002 Rebel Xtreme? I'm contemplating getting this gun, but after reading this thread, it seems people have quite a few problems with 32 Degrees markers. It's either the 2002 Rebel Xtreme or the Spyder Shutter. I love the looks of the new 02 Xtreme but if the Shutter is more reliable, and the overall better gun, I'll go with that. Opinions??

i like tictacs
04-11-2002, 02:34 PM
the only rebels that had alot of problems were the older models. 32* just got its feet wet with those. the new xtreme 02's are better than the shutter, by far i think.

Bad007

I would go with the shutter, you can upgrade those more and seem to be more reliable, but they are pretty much the same kinda gun. Have same upgrades

Dark Cloud
04-22-2002, 12:32 PM
According to tictac Rebel 02 Xtreme is greater than shutter which is great than 98c so Xtreme Rebel is greater than shutter adn 98c.

I've heard some really mixed revies about the shutter. Many people say that all of the upgrades on it are cheap and are practically uselsss. I'd reccommend getting the Rebel Xtreme or the Spyder Xtra or TL plus. The TL plus is the same as a shutter just without the dropforward and the reglulator.

Thats what i think.

why? Vertical feed SUCKS on any blow back. it actually feeds SLOWER then powerfeed. Why? blowback, goes straight up and literally pushes the balls back up. with powerfeed there is a blowback vent, so it isnt as bad.

Bad007
05-01-2002, 08:58 PM
I agree but they were suggesting that, and I doubt you will notice it if you have a revy and I used one and they work fine and I like them better. And then why is vertical feed on so many guns? On many blowbacks there are vertical feed such as timmies.

Bad007

depends, what kind you can get and the bore size of the barrel your using. And if you want to pay for like tourney or paint or practice paint. try to match the bore of the barrel, a nice fit would be the best, want it to slide through but still kinda snug.

Chopping / doubling balls with a '02 Rebel VTL or Bottomline? Try these steps:

1) Turn your powerfeed to the off position.
2) Clear the breech of paint balls.
3) Fill the power feed with the paint you want to use.
4) SLOWLY! Turn the power feed knob COUNTERCLOCKWISE!!! until the balls start to feed easily but not wide open.
5) Rapid fire the gun.
6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 until reliable feeding without chopping / doubling occurs.

 long winded explanation why this works.... email me if you want it:|

I have a Rebel 02' Extreme and it is awesome but if you prefer the BTB for the style thats cool too. But the btb electronic is not burst or full auto. If you want electronic you can get the regular btb at www.888paintball for $120 and then you can go to www.firstcallpaintball.com and get a black (which will go great with the btb's colors) electronic grip frame for only $60 which is about the same price as the btb electronic. Then you will have the electronic plus the full-auto, burst, and an LCD for quick switching from one to another (unlike most spyders where you have to go in the frame and switch a bunch of switches).

i am new to this so i do not know if this is a stupid question or not. How can a bolt decrease ball breakage? Also How can a bolt improve accuracy and distance? That is what the Cyclone bolt and delrun bolts say.

liquidknight
03-29-2003, 08:17 PM
only way i can think of that they would help as far as ball breakage is to eliminate any sharp edges or to go to a softer materal so as to lessen the blow of the hammer. but other than that i'm not sure

I just bought a Rebel Bottom Line, and it doesnt have a beaver tail or a sight mount (which its not suppost to of course) but I want to put a sight on it. What do I do? Can I buy an after market sight rail that will fit the gun, and if so, who makes the best one for a rebel?
thanks,

I want to get an expansion chamber, but I was told that you might need to get something called a "vertical adapter" installed in order to use one. I have a Rebel Vertical w/ Bottomline.

MuffinMan14
04-26-2003, 07:01 AM
no you don't need VA.
i wouldnt recommend an ex chamber, get a decent reg and anti-siphon for co2 or just buy a nitro if you have the money.

Guitar Junki 16
04-26-2003, 07:44 PM
An expansion chamber could be of use if you are having problems with your Co2 freezing up, or you are losing shot-to-shot consistancy. If you get one, you wont need to get a vertical adapter, the expansion chamber will just screw right into where the bottomline screws into. You will have to take off that black piece from the one end of the bottomline so that you can screw it into the Xchamber.

SPUTTERING / RAPID FIRE / NOT RE-COCKING PROBLEM

Just wanted to leave an update for those who might be having the same problem.

If your gun is clean, well-lubed, and the tank has air in it...then this is probably the old "hammer and sear" problem, as it was with mine.

I e-mailed the tech guys at 32 Degrees (Naitonal Paintball Supply), and after about 2 weeks, I received a new sear and hammer free of charge.

It takes about 5 minutes to replace. Re-lube everything and re-assemble, fire the gun with CO2 a few times to distribute the lube, and you're done! (It may not re-cock the first few shots, but after 5-10 you should be good!)

Good luck!

Broco: if you're referring to the linkage pin (the part that holds the bolt and the striker together), of which you can see only the knurled top, I would recommend mechanical persuasion (pliers). The part should pop straight out. I am not an engineer. Yet. Take my advice with a grain of sanity.

I was wondering if this (http://www.888paintball.com/product.asp?plid=AIR+SYSTEM&icid=EXPANSION+CHAMBERS&scid=REGULATOR+KITS&csid=518952997516005991568838152427117918450780051 81196&andor=OR&lookup=ebel+reg+upgrade&code=07%2D2%2DRBL+XTR+RG+UG+3) would fit on my rebel bottomline, and if it would be a good alternative to an expansion chamber. Also if this (http://www.888paintball.com/product.asp?plid=PARTS&icid=32+DEGREES&scid=AFTERMARKET&csid=999553820346583118484075137796315395529735701 64342&code=07%2D2%2DRBL+UPG+KIT+S+1) would work on my gun, there is no real reason i want this but i like the rear cocking and the sight rail. By the way right now my rebel is stock (I am pretty new to the sport) but I hope to get a cp one piece pretty soon.

FuzZyXL
05-30-2003, 12:10 PM
Yeah, they'll both work. Don't bother with these parts though.
The first one is a substandard regulator(I have one. It sucks.) and a gas-through grip. You can do much better for that much money.
The second is just a dress kit. It converts your marker to rear cocking and adds a sight rail/beavertail combo like the Rebel Xtreme. No/negligible performance enhancement.

For the first one, I'd take a deep breath and consider buying a regulator. A bit more money, to be sure, but potentially worth it in performance, if it's set up properly.
For the second one, the only reason to do that is to be able to mount a sight to your Rebel.

Personally, I'd say that the most important part is a great barrel. First thing, without a doubt, to buy. I've felt that the barrel is at least as important as the rest of the marker for putting paint on target.

ok since you think i should buy a regulator i might think about it. I was wondering since i only use CO2, do u think that a regulator would be worth it? If so i was wondering if this (http://www.actionvillage.com/paintball-gas-systems-regulators-pmi-pure-energy-regulators.html) would work, since i do not want to shell out a lot of money since i do not have a full time job and do not have much money to spend on this stuff.

Hey i just bought a rebel o2 extreme electronic lcd about 3 months ago. i am having 1 problem with it though. when the gun is gassed up and turned on and has a new battery in it every once in a while when i pull the trigger the gun doesnt fire. it is cocking back and is fully cocked back when this happens. When i pull the trigger all i hear is a clicking noise and the bolt does not fire. it doesnt move at all. but then all the sudden ill pull the trigger again and it will fire. this happens to me about every 4 or 5 shots. can somebody help me out please and tell me what the problem is an what i need to do about it thanks.

FuzZyXL
05-31-2003, 11:48 AM
RebelUser52: A properly configured regulator will help your shot-to-shot consistency whether you're using CO2 or HPA. Remember that some regulators don't like CO2, so make sure that the one you get can handle it. Remember also that you need to make sure that liquid CO2 won't find its way into the reg. Most regulators hate liquid CO2.

About the PMI regulator: I don't know how well it performs.

It's up to you to decide if you NEED a reg enough to spend the money on it.

FuzZyXL

bmadd: It sounds like you lost the lock washer that is supposed to go on the screw before you put it in the marker. The lock washer keeps the screw from backing out from the vibrations the marker makes when it cycles. It's an important piece.

I bought an 01 Rebel Xtreme. Loved it. Got a Teardrop barrel and little else. Did some efficiency mods. Hi-Flow valve, polished internals, removed venturi from the bolt. Used it until it wore out (cases and cases of paint)at the sear/striker interface. The morning before a big rec-ball day. Mourned and played with a rental.
Bought an 02 Rebel Vertical off Ebay for $40 and put the bolt, the valve, the barrel, and the sight rail from my Xtreme on the new one. Added a gas-through grip and a remote. Accurate and consistent on the range. About a case through it. Haven't tested it on the field.

I just bought a Rebel Xtreme Electronic '02 and after a few minutes of searching I finally found how to change the modes of firing instead of just having the default semi-auto mode. Look at the back of the grip where the power switch and button 2 are located. There should be a square screwed in piece of metal, don't ask me why 32degrees screwed it shut. If you unscrew the little screw and pull out the small square metal piece you will find "Button One." With this button you can change modes from Semi-auto, burst, reactive, full auto, and RPS modes.

I also need to know if the Psychoballistics X-Core Expansion Chamber and a DYE Ultralite barrel would be good upgrades for this gun.

Hey, I have a rebel 2002 and just bought a bottomline kit for it. The first time i used, it worked fine, but now(the second time) a week later, when i try to screw in the c02 tank, it all comes pouring out of the little hole on the bottomline kit. Is there anything i can do, or do i just have to stop using the bottomline?

cowman92

I'm basically a newb at paintball and want to know what upgrades i should get to my rebel02. i bought the bottomline kit, but i dont know what else i should get.

FuzZyXL
09-13-2003, 09:02 PM
Cowman: You're only a 'newb' if you make yourself out to be one. Asking for help is opening the door to a larger world.

About the leak in the bottomline: check the o-ring on your CO2 tank. If a new o-ring doesn't solve the problem, the pin on the tank is being engaged too soon. First, try other tanks on your marker and your tank on other markers to determine where the problem lies. Whatever the problem, it should be repaired by an airsmith. Should be a simple(cheap) fix. Alternately, you could sidestep the problem by purchasing an on/off CA adapter like this one (http://www.paintballgear.net/031-7960-2.html). The part should cost between $30 and $50 new. The idea is to be able to screw the tank in completely before engaging the valve pin. This is one of the reasons I use a remote system. I hate to tell you to buy something you've already bought, so I strongly recommend to price both options before deciding.

about upgrades: Play with your marker a lot before you start pouring money into it. At this point, your money is probably better spent on paint, air, and field fees to get your skills and knowledge up. If you decide you don't like the feel, it's gripframe or dropforward time. If you want accuracy, get a nice barrel and MATCH YOUR PAINT TO IT. The younger brother of accuracy is consistency. If you're in a warm climate, a regulator for CO2 could make a big difference over the chrono. Cold climates might indicate HPA, but only if you can get cheap and easy fills, play enough to warrant the expense, and are plagued by liquid CO2 problems.
Spend time with players. Play mostly at your own skill level, but don't be afraid to step into deeper water to test the temperature. See what players are using. Ask them if you can try out their markers. Find out what you like, and what you don't BEFORE you start upgrading. Way back in the ancient times, I spent all my money on stuff for my rebel. It looked tight, but I couldn't afford to play. Take a lesson from my mistake.

Long story short: Just play. Lots.

Hey i just bought a rebel 02 xtreme and id like to know some suggested upgrades while still leaving the outside pretty much the same, i dont mind getting a new trigger but everything else i like.

i still have to buy a steel braided hose.

FuzZyXL
02-28-2004, 10:16 PM
okay, the problem with the broken linkage pin is a tough one. What you need to do is remove the back pin, take out the hammer spring, pull the bolt fully back. Now, if you can get some sort of angled tool into the lower body tube, you can actually lever the link pin free. the hammer actually has a hole going all the way through from the top to the inside of the tube. if you can find a good picture of a striker, you'll know what you mean.

about upgrades (spazzonater):
Air is nice if you can get fills where you plan to play. This upgrade will transfer nicely to another marker, should you decide to upgrade. Not much is necessary to prepare for this upgrade, if you've got a bottomline ASA. Some like to have a dropforward, but that's up to you. A used steel HPA tank with some life until its next hydro can be had on the cheap. Buying a tank with an adjustable output pressure will give you versatility, and let you tune your marker toward more gas-efficient operation, but will cost more. Consider the costs and availability of HPA in your area before you jump in.

The ONLY type of bolt it's remotely worth your money to buy (imho, of course)is of the lightweight polymer variety, but these require special care. My verdict: Don't bother.

A used 9 or 12v revy is kind of nice, and can be had very cheaply used. IMHO, not necessary for woods ball on a mechanical marker. I can fan my mech. rebel as fast as I can and my good old VL-200 still keeps up.

The best way to upgrade your trigger is an electro frame. IIRC, '02 rebels are grip-compatible with spyders. Ebay or message boards. This one can be kind of spendy. If you feel awesome, you might be able to pick up someone's nonfunctional electro-spyder (as long as the electronics are good) and slap the frame on your rebel. This upgrade is likely to necessitate the purchase of an agitated hopper.

About upgrades: (DragonX8806)
the single most important thing, I cannot stress enough is paint-to-barrel match.
You said you like the lines of your marker how it is, so, just buy paint that fits your barrel. The good folks at the field where you play should be able to sell you paint that fits nicely. Steel braided hose is a personal preference thing. It's durable. Good if you're rough with your marker when you play. Read the second half of my previous post.

... and I'm spent.

The sear not tripping is because of the battery. Are you using a rechargable 9.6v or just a 9v? Sometimes just the 9v doesn't cut it.

Teflon all of your hose's connectors. Change the oring on your tank.

Get a spyder spring kit so you can get the gun over 200 fps.

I am sure a spyder cup seal will work just fine. You can get them by calling up kingman.

hey, i just picked up a Rebel LE with 3 barrels for 20$ but the barrels i got were pretty junky..any ideas as to what a good barrel would be for the gun? And if you would happen to know, a good paint match for the barrel?
Also, the bottomline on the gunleaks from where the hose goes into the bottomline...you think i should get a new bottomline for it/hose or you think itd be worth it to buy some silicone or lock tight or somethin and see if it would seal that up?
