Paintball began in the early 1980's when foresting companies used special guns to mark trees in distant and out of reach places. Hence the term "marker". Farmers also used them to mark livestock. After that, a few guys got together and played the first ever game of capture the flag. And... Thats all I know.

there was a magazine a while ago that did an article on it. they interviewed the guys and stuff. It was a bunch of guys who wanted to see who would be the best at survival. Back then, when you tagged someone, you got to go take their 12g and paint;) (but you had to reimburse them:( ). the guy who won the first game didnt even fire a shot.

Dans page was great it answered basicaly the one question everyone wants to know "Where the HECK did paintball come from!?!?", and the answer is surprising to me. I always had thought the millitary had come up with it as a training thing.

ok well we answered where did it come from, but we didnt answere how did it go from only one gun anyone could buy and could only put 2 bucks of upgrades in it to having 100s if not 1000s of guns you can buy and being able to put over $100,000 upgrades in it.
