I just recently noticed some people customize their masks, and thought it would be a practical idea to make a mask picture thread. It doesn’t have to be fancy, if it looks good-put it up.

I got this cheap mask. Gets the job done. Anyways I was trying out my mask and felt the plastic sides resting up against the side of my head. I figured if I got shot on the side of my head it's going to hurt. So I pulled out the side cushions out of my MX helmet and did a temporary sew job and put them inside my mask. Feels good, fits better, hopefully better side protection too.

Got mine today. Deep dark royal blue despite what the pics show (window is open). I also paid extra for a Blue Mirror lens and put it on right away. It looks incredible. Also, in the last pic the window is closed and you can see that the mask is indeed a dark blue.

So I got shot in the mask and for some reason it stuck in the mask.

There is a full shell in my mask, 2/3rds is on the inside, 1/3 is hanging out the outside.

Some of the paint is on the inside of my mask and some was on the outside, it's the wierdest hit ever especially cus the shell stuck.

Well I modified my vforce rental. I know you all are asking why? It's like polishing a turd.

Well I was bored and needed something to do..

Parts:

1 - SPST Lighted Switch ($4.00 - Radio Shack)
2 - 12vdc Brushless fan (2x $12 - Radio Shack)
3 - Heavy Duty 9v battery connection ($3 for a pack of 5)
4 - Rechargeable battery (Already had put normally go for $12)

What I like about this is that the switch lights up when it's on and it's surface mounted, I don't need to worry about a stray ball knocking the switch and turning it off.

Problems though, the room in the mask is tight so you need to be careful where you place the fans.

I put one at the mouth piece to help as a cooling factor, and the second above the lens. I had to trim the mask about to get it to fit, I had to remove 2 center connections from the visor and remove the vforce emblem from the grill above the lens, which involved cutting the grill.

If you do this mod, I would recommend removing the lens as it can get damaged if you leave it on.

I had to drill 5 holes in the mask. 1 hole for the switch, and 4 holes for zip ties to hold the battery in.

Let me know your thoughts. On average it took me about 45 min. to do all this.

flex 7 clear
- yellow fade lens
- large soft side ear pads
- made a buckle in the back like on the nvador masks
- bent a piece of steel around the jaw line then painted it black ( it will rust on ya if ya don't ) then zipped tied it down
this keeps paint form hitting my chin and it pulls the mask together so its not as wide.

Heres the story to put it in a "nut shell"...
He said "I got you in the mask, I saw it hit", I felt my mask and said " No you didn't" so we continue. After the game we are all walking out and some one is like "et me see your mask" so i look up at him and he dies laughing. Everyone all starts looking at me and laughing, but I am just standing there dumbfounded. We all rush off the field and I pulled off my mask and this is what I saw.......tell me what you think??!!
on the 3rd one you can see that it almost came in the mask.
