98,the A-5 flatline wears out and you have to get it re sandblasted.

both wear out. but a5. alittle faster. because more sandblast because of shorter lenght.
and the a5 is way easier to put on

ah, that's why i like the flatline. stupid people flame it making themselves look like idiots, making me look smarter
btw, chances are you didn't install it right...there's this little thing called the manual, you might want to consult it before any further idiotic remarks...

Actually, the Flatline is not worth the money IMO...
The ball is so easy to trace and dodge...especially with bright paint shells used these days.
And if you tilt the barrel to the side a bit, shots will fly off, making it difficault to snap shoot (this means you must keep the gun straight...hard to do in live-fire situations).
Paint is restrictive and expensive...Marbilizers run $55.00+ for a case. Hellfire is around $60.00+. Small bore and high-quality= high cost.
So...just my thoughts...

i would hav to say. dont get a flatline. i hav eused them and they are pretty nice with their distance but. their length and weight they add on to the gun isnt worth it at all. plus, you could get like 2 or 3 tear drops(different bore sizes) for the same price and have a nicer shooting marker. the flatline(when installed by pro-shop) still chopped and it stucks because its hella hard to get squeege in that thing. the balls often bounce. me and my friend were actually having a skipping contest to see who could get the ball to bounce of the road(downhill) the most times. we tied with 2. but anyway, like i said earlier, dont get it and buy some cheaper teardrops or CP barrels

Um... OK...
If you can't handle the weight of the Model 98 with Flatline you need to be doing some weight lifting.
Just because the proshop installed it, doesn't mean it was done right. It only takes a couple minutes to install and you only need adjust it once.
Why is it so hard to get a squeegee through? All you have to do is press down the front sight so the hopper tips to the side then slide your squeegee through. Everything from straight shots to strings squeegees to swabs work in it fine.

yeah raptor is right. it isn't that heavy, though with a vertical adapter, x chamber, 12v revy with two 9v batteries, 20oz co2 full, filled with balls and a flatline, it is heavier than most rifles! and three feet long without a drop forward or remote. but even then its managable. you just have to have things called "muscles" and not be a complete pansy. and i don't have to squeege my barrel;)

oh yeah, i forgot about the title of the thread. both flatlines are the same. it just depends on which marker you have. if your deciding which gun to buy solely on which looks better with a flatline you have a problem. both work the same with performance but the 98 flatline looks like a hunting rifle and the a5 looks more modern sub-machine gun style

lol. in no way am i a pansy. i never said i couldnt handle the weight. its just i dont like my gun to be heavy and big and bulky. i have played front on my team for 3 years and i have come to realize that long guns make it hard to get into bunkers and snap shoot :P . as for squeeges, i just like to take the straight and get the job done, then throw the squeege on the ground. and i know just cuz the proshop did it doesnt mean it was right but i have seen my share of flatlines that we whacked up.

yeah i play back so my cannon doesn't move to much i just work them from a distance:) as for the massive length and weight i learned to adjust. when a hold my friend's spyder after a game with the 98 it feels like the spyder weighs like a feather
