Besides wanting to know how to spell sqwegy, sqeegy, sqwiji....I'm looking for a good barrel cleaning thingy. I've used those generic BE ones, a stick with a plunger on one end and cloth on the other. And I used this guys flex one, the rubbery one with a whole bunch of plungers on one side.

Surprisingly the flex one worked great and I'm thinking on getting one (fits nicely in the pocket which I like a lot). But I'm wondering if anyone knows of other, if any, barrel cleaning thingys that work very well, or have any opinions. I don't even know if separate companies make their own barrel cleaning thingys or what.

I like the Straight Shot Squeegee, the one with a rubber disk on one side and cloth on the other. It does as decent job of cleaning minor barrel breaks and most importantly, you don't have to take off your barrel to clean it.

The Flex squeegee's, cable with several discs on them do a better job of cleaning your barrel but require you to take your barrel off to clean, not good in the middle of a fire fight.

I carry the straight shot to use during games and have a flex that I use in between games.

Swabs are good too, they're like big Q-Tips. They're great for cleaning out residual paint that can be leftg with either of the above squeegees but they can be messy if you try to use them while there's still alot of goo in your barrel. Also, because they're absorbant, after your use them a few times they get mucked up with paint and you can't use them again until you clean them with water to rinse out the paint.

First things first, that flex squeegee that you call it, is called a jerk squeegee or a pull through squeegee. Those are good for between game cleanings, but not recomended for using during a game, solely on the fact that they take too long to use.

My personal favorite type of squeegee is a straight shot, wear it around your neck with a lanyard, if you need to use it use the quick disconnect to pull it off, push the button at the end and stick it down your barrel with the disk (btw those plungers as you so blatently call them are called disks) horizontal and then when you reach the end release the button and the disk will go vert pull it out and an insanely large amount of paint will come out. Its surprising how good it cleans the barrel.

If you don't have time for that kind of a squeegee then use another great type, a battle swab, as said before they just look like very big q tips. If you get a break stick it down the barrel push it back and forth a bit and pull it out. Given it won't be insanely clean its enough to get back some of your accuracy you previously had before.

here's the deal:

Straight Shot: Use during games...cheap ones have a simple swivel on the end, gravity does the work...it collapses as it goes in, and at the end as you pull out, it straightens. Cleans real good during a firefight.

Jerk (yes I am one, thank you): has a swab followed by anywhere from 1 to 6 rubber discs. you use this puppy to clean a barrel real good, and to clean the chamber if you chop (now you know why you almost never see a tippmann player with a jerk squeegie).

Battle Swab (AKA the Q-tip): Stick it in the barrel, twist it around a few times, then pull it out. Not a complete clean, but it's the fastest of the squeegies. Generally a two use swab...until you wash it out.

All of them go for around $7-8 is you know where to look.
