I went to my proshop yesterday with the intention of getting my 20oz anti-siphoned. The guy behind the counter looks at me like I'm f'ing daft and tells me that since I shoot a Tippmann I don't really need one. I guess this could be true as with the CVX valve the Tippmann will run even on liquid CO2. It seems strange though that antisiphon is one of those things we plug almost mercilessly, and here this guy is looking at me like I'm a complete retard and telling me I don't need it. I decided to save my cash until I could get some second opinions on this little conundrum. Well, that's my story, sound off guys.

I think Tippmans are designed to handle liquid Co2 better than most other guns but you'll still benefit from an anti-syphon. Just a little bit of liquid Co2 will cause a dip in velocity, which in turn will cause your ball to fall short.

if you use ANY gun with co2, get it antispyphoned.

So basically I should go back to the store and tell the guy behind the counter I don't care what he thinks and to do it anyway.
One other question, if I get another gun, will I need to have the anti-siphon tube changed out to keep it functioning?

I say with any gun you should use anti siphon for co2, for 10bucks why the hell not? Its a cheap simple upgrade that WILL improve your guns performance.

just make sure you use the same asa...

also, anti siphon is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than an expansion chamber...

so later you can just buy a female reg...

HEY! I like my expansion it's done good by me, but I am interested in what willpill thinks I should call the guy at the proshop. BTW they charge $15 to do it here, they always charge too much.

Don't call the guy anything negative. Take your ASA in, get him to install it and be on your way.

I recommend that you give him your whole gun, not just the ASA. The reason is that he needs to screw the tank in so that the anti-syphon lines up in the right position. It's kind of hard to tell if the tank is screwed in all the way if you only give him an ASA. i.e, he can get more torque by twisting the entire gun rather than the ASA alone.

just a suggestion because one of my antisypons is slightly out of allignment and now I have to take it back to the shop to get redone.

oooo...tourqe :eyes: im sure they have wrenches.

besides, i normally screw my tank in all the way till it stops, and you can do that with just the asa too..

Why would the tank screw any farther in when the ASA is on the gun? once you get to the end of the valve threads guess what? It's not goin' in any farther! I'm going to take the whole gun just to be a jerk about it, either that or I'm going to get it done on a day when this particular guy isn't working. Personally if someone case in and asked for me to do something to their gun and they are going to pay me for it, I certainly would not say "nah, that's a waste of money," I would say, "an excellent suggestion and a fine upgrade" unless it was something totally screwed up.

ya. and since he has a drop. they can use the dropping portion of the drop for a handle or leverage

seriously! you guys do now what you are arguing about? come on now:) bring the whole freaking gun in. don't be ashamed that some guy at the shop is bent on not making his store money......"hey, you can't buy that, we might make money!"

Okay, I will be lame and quote myself from another thread...

Wow! Why does anybody that likes paintball decide to make a business out of it, and then do things utterly wrong?

Tan, I just read that thread before coming to this one...I do plan on taking in the whole gun if only to give myself a little sense of rebellion, not to mention I have no reason to be ashamed of my set-up. Maybe I should try reverse psychology, tell him that I don't think he can do it... Mosta the guys that work that store are pretty cool, they are helpful and not against making money, but this one just wants to sit there and get paid for nothing all day.

BTW I think this thread is done, I've made my descision, I'm taking in the WHOLE GUN and getting it anti-siphoned no matter what the guy behind the counter says, I need to make him earn some of the free paint and stuff they give him anyway.

It's not because of being ashamed, it's just to make it easier on yourself and them by bringing in just the ASA.

Excellent choice. I'm curious as to what this guy is going to have to say about you coming back in. PM me with it after you've got it done :)
