I remember when i first started paintball (like a year ago) and i was almost the first to want a gun. So my dad (we are not very rich) saved up and bought me a gun for my birthday, and it was a piranha. All i really new then were the two biggest names. Angel and Spyder, and i was so disappointed that i got a piranha instead of a spyder and my dad really knew it wasnt what i wanted. However now i am so damn proud of my piranaha and have no regrets what so ever. Just felt like postin this.

I fully agree!! As a father I know the mental value of a simple thank you. Depending on your age a hug or handshake adds a lot too. I know when I my boys are appreciative of what they have the chance of getting more greatly increases.

Hear, Hear Auction ... Drako, make sure your Pop knows what you feel ... I've got four kids ... and we're not rich ... So when I get something for them, it's because I think they've earned it, and hearing them say "Thanks Dad" is all I ever ask in return.

It's like a fairy tail! Well, kinda. Well, seriously my dad bought me a winchester and I didn't complain and I played with it for like half a year and then I said "dad, I think now I should move up to a better gun " and he said ok and his feelings weren't hurt at all because I used it for half a year.
well your fathers feelings were probaly not hurt because he knew he was only getting you a starter incase yuo didn't get into paint ball. You know kinda like a experiment!

Your lucky when I ask my dad for anything to do with paintball they pretty much say stfu, just in nicer terms. But I get money from doing stuff that is not from them plus I get 10 bucks a week babysitting.

You guys are lucky. My parents have hardly ever bought me anything paintball related(except for birthday/christmas presents). Every once in a while my parents pay for a tank fill. That is about it.

sometimes its cool to have something different than the rest of the crowd... Proves that you aren't one of those sheep that buys something just because you heard the name ;)

Holy mary mother of all that is sacred....does anyone pay for their stuff themselves? I keep hearing about how "my mom bought this" or "my dad hates giving me money for this paintball thingymabobber" and I'm thinking, what the heck? I don't even talk to my parents anymore. I went to college and it was like "SEE YA!"
Does any pay for their own stuff? I mean, actually have a job, work...at that job, and use a portion of or the whole paycheck to buy something? I'm beginning to think the reason everyone has better guns than me is cause someone ELSE is paying for them.
Maybe I need to get into something more fitting for my age, like backgammon or bridge.

Well, I am one of those sheep. Some friends told me that M98customs are the best money for the buck, based on durability, upgradeability, etc. I bought one...
Then, after using it, feeling it's weight, seeing cost of all the things I wanted to do to it that were already done on other guns, I changed my mind. I did some research into review sites and relative durability, looks, performance, upgradeability, etc. and decided on the TL+. NOW, I maybe should have got a spyder w/o the mini-xchamber, because it's coming off this week for a pmi regulator...but otherwise, I love it.
Looks better than many other guns, especially the m98's...and in my opinion looks better than the piranahs...however, from what I've seen/heard, the piranahs and spyders are very similar...so I went with the more popular, seeing as consumer behavior is a big descriptor of product support.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Heck I don't care the age. Give a hug. I'm 40 and hug my father still. My son is 12 and hope he never feels like it would be wrong to hug a family member, that is what families are about. Happy, sad, win or lose its family. My son and I are on a team together. We play on a league once a week. Paintball is a great thing we can share.

Yes I pay for all of my stuff. But there are some younger players that may not have a job. The youth are the furture of this sport dont bash them. And I quit bridge when I was 16 because it was too boring. I'm 40 if anyone wants to know.

Tell 'Em Polarbear ... I'm 37, my 12-year-old isn't old enough to get a real job, so I bought him a mask, gloves and some other gear ... no marker until his grades improve. That's how he earns his stuff, no grades, no paintball. That's all I expect, right now anyway.

I worked my butt off for 2 months when I was 15 to buy my compact 2000. Making $5 an hour helping my dad with his construction company. I put all my money into buying that gun. It's all I could afford. I couldn't even play because I didn't have enough to buy a 4 oz. tank, let alone a hopper, elbow, mask, paintballs. When my dad saw how hard I worked to make the money to afford this gun he agreed to give me an advance. He took me out, bought me the tank, the mask, the hopper, elbow and all that. And I worked the rest of the summer to pay him back. I wouldn't trade that gun for the world. I might have only been a year ago, but when I go to a field I hold my head up high. Because I know mommy and daddy didn't go out and buy my autococker or TL for me. I work for mine, and that is the greatest feeling in the world.

Like I said earlier my parents don't pay for a damm thing unless it is for a present or the ocasional air fill. I have to either save liek hell or work my a$$ off for anything.

My mom is helping me pay for Skyball (not alot, but some), I think she's starting to understand that it's not just something I'm gonna drop after a few years. And I think she's starting to appreciate how much work I've put into getting this far, so it's kinda nice to have parents who support you. I still had to buy my marker, revvy tank mask and everything else on my own, but it's nice that they take an interest :)

I have plenty of money becuz I got 10,000 dollars from my grandma in stocks. I sold the stocks and made some wise investments.
The kids of the future are getting smarter. (I'm 12)
man i got so lucky with my compact 2000 buy! I told my parents i was getting into paintball and if they could help me out until i get a job(Im only 15) so they said they would pay for half of it if i helped my mom clean out the basement and garage! Once again proving that parents can be cool at times!(maybe...:))
