Well, if you explain/say what the A-5's upgrades than we could be of more help. But with your post rite now, COcker.

The answer comes down to personal preference. I didn't own an '03 Autococker, but I did have an '02 Vertical and I sold it when I bought my A-5.
I always say try them out and see what's best for you. Heck, you can be like me. Buy one used. See if you like it. If you don't, sell it to someone else and try the other. In the past year I've had as my main marker (in order I think)
c96 Autococker
98 Custom
68 Carbine
2000 right feed Autococker
2002 vert. Autocker
A-5
Looks like a lot, but I usually buy used and sell for about the same price I paid and come out even.

Ok, I am not saying A-5 is better than cocker 03.
But I like A-5 more, so I can play better games with A-5.

hey this is xXblinkXegoXx and im on this name just because (its a long story) well back on the subject. an a5 with an e-grip double trigger and new barrel (not flatline). i was gonna get an 03 cocker but there too expensive and i cant get my parents to buy any upgrades bigger than 100 bucks pretty much so i thought id get the a-5 and bust it out. tnx.

all these peple saying 03 cocker are right and wrong. You can't exactly some pare the two guns, the only thing they both have is closed bolt. but the rest of it is different. a-5 has a lotta kick back in comparison w/ the cocker, the a-5 however is lighter than a cocker. It's just about in the end what barrels and stuf fyouare going to use on each, but otherwise the cocker has many many more upgrade possibilitys which is another good thing. so I will not say which one to get, it's about how you are going to want YOUR gun to be.

I am sure that A-5 has Open-Bolt.

Um yea the A-5 is open bolt blow back...and just for ****s and grins I'd take an A-5 over a stock 2k3 vert cocker anyday.

Probably the Cocker(it still depends heavily on player preference), and I'm pretty sure the A-5 despite the roller bearing cocking system would be classified an open bolt marker.

Thought you were getting a mag?
Anway, if you cant afford upgrades for a cocker, just buy the A-5 then.

Not only is the a-5 open bolt, the differance between closed bolt, or open has no effect on accuracy if thats what your implying. Which I assume you are as most beileve but I could be wrong.

I personally would go with the cocker as i already have. For some reasons i really dont like tippmans. They are good guns but i hate the feel and other things about it. Cocker.I just got mine yesterday and I love it. Yes its a stock 03 but i plan on upgrading it.

Very interesting. This is a Tippmann and seen like everyone here like cocker more than A-5....:eyes: I guess you guys stuck here because you don't have the money for a cocker. ;)
Well then start saving up for a new gun.
It is up to each of you which gun you want. Just don't forget, the gun is only less than 5% of the game.

Well, anyone that's been here a while knows I hate A-5 vs Cocker threads, so I'm going to make this quick and to the point. It is your personal opinion that matters. Not what anyone else tells you.
See if you can try them both out. See what YOU like better. What feels better to you. Then that is what you want to get.
Personally, I wouldn't get either. I would stay with my m98. It's the perfect gun for me and I can already compete against people with higher end guns than mine, so why do I need a "high end" gun? I don't.
