I know this is a stupid question but how do you uncock a Tippman 98 without taking the CO2 off? I tried holding the bolt and pull the trigger like the manual said but everytime I did that the gun just fired. Yea im a noob, i know.

when you hold the trigger, grab ahold of the side cocking bolt arm or whatever its called, and you slowly ease it in towards the valve
or even easier just take your co2 off, or get an on/off switch installed

You made it sound hard. :|

Hold the bolt handle and pull the trigger. youll feel the bolt go forward, guide it till it stops. that easy

'Tis exactly it. Pretty easy to do, considering I do exactly what he said all the time.

Ohhh so just ease the bolt slowly. Thanks! btw how do you know if you're o-ring blew up? does it actualy get rips? I don't know if mine blew up or not cuz when I first took the co2 out i overdone it and gas spray out everywhere. But i look at the o-ring and it looks fine.

all the gas coming out is normal, its just the excess gas escaping from your gun. and usually when my o-rings break they either crack up and peel off, or "foam" up or sweel up and blow apart, its hard to describe, lets just say you'll know when you've broke an o-ring
