I'm fairly new, and just designed this layout for a field. I'm curious as to what people think of it, and am looking for tips on what could be changed...
The red is tall(6'), the blue is low(for the snake, 2'), and the black is mid(4')...

Actually.. now that i look at it... its fine.. except.. take out the 4 diagonal ones towards the end.. like the first 3 row of bunker in... the diagonal ones... take those out..

I agree with tictacs, it's very ordinary looking. Try spicing it up a bit. It doesn't have to be so square and symmetrical. :D

Space your bunkers out a bit; too many of them overlap. You wouldn't be able to see past the next bunker up!

I agree with all of the above comments. Try taking out some of the bunkers, maybe.

its too wide. 30 by 50 is almsot a square. 20 by 50 would be better, and fewr bunkers

Ya know what, I'm not very good at this... I need some ideas.
I have one, it's a spool set on its side on eather end of the field, with a barrier on the front side so you can stand on it like a small sniper tower.
But I can't seem to make a creative field... I really need your guys' help.

Alright, check this one out, same color legend as above, and the black cirlces at each end are the above mentioned spool barriers...

Still same but with more bunkers now... they shouldnt all be right ina line... make it so both sides dont look the same... thats what makes a good feild

Okay, so mine is a little too, "active". But all the other designs look so... blah... including the one you showed.
The symetry is somewhat untitentional, it's just the way my mind works. I love symetry. Could someone help me with a "in between" version.

You need symmetry, no matter what, one side will have an advantage, no matter how small.

Also the field looks a bit too common. You should make it look really diffrent.

I don't mind the "typical"-ness of it, as I'm fairly new, and the "typical" is still new to me. Once I get more experienced, I plan on changing it. Here's a somewhat revised version...

Dude, just make it diffrent. Diffrent is good.

I'd like it to be different, but I'm lack creativity in this.
Plus, my budget is somewhat limited...

Well you could use all that, but re-arrange it.
DarkX0
09-11-2003, 07:55 PM
How?
paintballer42o
09-11-2003, 07:57 PM
Well:
You could just move things around So it looks kool and diffrent. Everyone has at least a small style of creativity. Just try to think of something. Its not that hard:| maybe move things and take out things.

There are just way too many bunkers on that field.
paintballer42o

Yeah he needs to reduce them like take like 2 off and rearrange them so it looks diffrent. he should work on that or someone help him cause for some reason i cant post pics.

Honestly it's easier to design a field on the field itself, rather than sitting at home with a pencil and paper. You'll have a realistic gauge of distances, and be able to walk the field over and over in order to fine tune your layout. :)

How bout this one?

I would like to design is on the field, but as I have to buy the supplies ahead of time, I need to know about how much I'll need...

nonoonno. look at nppl fields, warpig.com, get ideas from those as to where you place bunkers etc.

I drew this in about ten minutes. Some of the firing lanes aren't spaced out properly, but with a little tweaking I think it could work:

I was just looking at the first field posted and i noticed there's no shooting lanes

Save them as a jpeg, and when you're making a reply to a thread there's the option "browse" below the text window where you would normally write your message. Browse your computer, find the picture you want to use and click it. :)

Yeah, I like the way magus' one looks, I think I'll go with that one...
Could someone explain the whole "firing lanes" thing he mentioned though; what does that mean?

magnus has a good map there, only suggestion i got is always make sumthing big on the 50, make it where's its got an advantage but can still be out-played, this gives both teams sumthing to work for and allows a strong point to the field... or just have sumthing totally unique , *(played at a field with a truck as a center piece)*, just add alittle bit of "you" to it
