I am planning on getting the JT Slammer Harness w/ 4 Speedpods. (120 round i think..may go to 150, but dont think so)
Anyway, is the collar worth it? I mean its pretty cool to be able to reload just by pushing in the pod and having it automatticaly open, but is it that hard to reload w/ a speedpod w/o the collar? (i have never reloaded w/ a speed pod obvisouly, IM OLD SCHOOL!! :D ) Anyway, can you open a speedpod w/ one hand w/o the collar?
Also, the collar looks like it raises your profile by 6 inches or so.. Anyone have any comments on this?

you have to have the collar to use the slammer pods.
or you can get allen paintball snAPP pods and use them with your just a hopper. they take some getting used to and sometimes the rubber bands break (so do the bands on the jt's) but extras are cheap I love my new snAPP pods.

you dont need the collar. its not as easy without it, but it still can be done with 1 hand which is cool....open hopper, reach behind, pull back collar on pod, dump, put pod back, close hopper....its easier and way cooler than regular pods

I love mine! And so do guys playing along side me when they run out of paint, I can throw a pod to'em. It will raise ya about 3.5 inches and it does put alittle stress on the neck/elbow area going into your feed tube, However the trade off in reloading makes it worth it! I painted my clear pods in the centers bright florescence HOT PINK! cause often times during games I'll reload and drop the empty pods, Well clear pods are hard to find in the woods! But not anymore!

I agree with Killer Kat ... I've been playing with my JT pods and collar for about a year now, and it makes reloading so smooth and easy. Plus, I never spill any balls while reloading. Added bonus, the collar has four leaves inside that prevent balls from falling outta the hopper, even if the hopper lid isn't secured. I can turn my gun upside down, open the hopper and shake it, and nothing falls out.

Have you ever been hit in the collar? I mean, w/ a sonic bm2k2 and a sonic highrise... i dunno if i want the extra 3.5" just so i can reload .02999 seconds faster ;)
Does it raise your profile much? Have you ever been hit there?
W/O the collar, i would think i would just...
1) Open the hopper lid
2) grap a speedpod from slampack
3) grap in on the (sorry guys) foreskin
4) put the end of the pod on my leg and push down so the pod opens
5) dump, throw pod
6) close hopper lid
i think icoudl do that in less then 3 seconds.. how much easier woudl it be w/ the collar?
And i thought w/ the Collar that you just took the lid off your hopper completely, and put on the collar..so there is no lid on you hopper/collar combo.. just the four little wings to prevent balls from spilling..
Can you get the collar w/o teh game timer and clock?

I've never been hit in the collar, so I can't say that it's increased my profile that much (maybe I'm just lucky). You can use the pods as you describe loading a regular hopper. For me, it's a matter of convenience and an "Anti-Clutz" feature. I tend to fumble and spill balls when using conventional pods.

i use the speed pods fine with out a collar, i dont like the collar. the reason i got the speed pods though was because i was leaning back with conventional flip top pods, and they all opened :| i spent the rest of the game trying to pick up my paint. i have to say that i do spill i few balls trying to open the speed pob and reload, but its ok. (p.s. i use an extreme rage 4v pack)

The only drawback to the JT system is the pack ... it holds the pods horizontally, which does make it easier to get to the pods, but, there is not velcro strap or cover to protect the top of the pods. I've taken several hits to a pod top and it aint pretty ... especially when the paint penetrates the pod and ruins the top 20 or 30 paintballs in it. I've been considering getting a different pack.
