An Autococker might be too advanced for him. IMO he should get an Automag Powerfeed instead of a Minimag, and buy a vertical adapter for it. It costs less than the Minimag and is almost the same thing. The grip frame is different than the Minimag but that's one of the first things replaced anyway. http://www.paintballgear.com has some good deals on Mags.
no man go to http://www.bbtpaintball.com for the mag deals. They even have custom bbt mags were you can choose your own barrel!

id save and get a bushy as a second gun. either that or get an impulse or another cheap electric.
I wouldn't buy an automag new.. it is no worth the money. The automag has alot of myster problems that no one knows how to solve.
If you want an automag.. buy it used, never pay full price.

I would highly reccomend an auto cocker if you want to get a second gun. I can even sell you one if you want. The automag is one of the last guns that I would buy. It is inaccurate and hard to figure out the problems with it. If you dont want to go to an autococker or a compareable gun then I would reccomend a Piranha PRO. The Piranha is very similar to the Spyder but better. It is easier to work on and the machining tollerances are a bit better. Check out the Piranha at http://www.buypmi.com
Let me know if you want one and I'll see what I can do. I start my pricing for the Pro at $240
