I just went to the field to ues my gun for the first time, and the thing ate up so much gas, I couldnt even get through one game, and I never even shot out my whole hopper. I am using a small tank ( 47/3000) so thats alot of it, but even with my friends 114/4500 I wasnt getting good effeciantcy. Any suggestions and how to make it more efficient? I am going somewhere for a weekend of paintball and there is no Nitrogen fills available.

Thanx,
Lawton

Have you actually tried lowering the psi output? Maybe you're shooting way too high, like at 500 psi.

Is there any good guides for adjusting the regs? I cant get it too shoot with my HPR at around 230 PSI.

Add a AKA Mitey Max (or equivalent) and a Vapor Valve (or equivalent). These upgrades about doubled the efficiency of the BKO is I once had. IMO, these are the first 2 and most important upgrades you should add to the marker.

Hmm, I'm having some of the same problems now. I'm not regulating my tank output so that could be part of the problem maybe? Is there even a regulator you can buy to regulate the tank output down to 400 psi? I can't seem to find anything like that at all. The only one I did see at a local shop, wouldnt fit the BKO's bottom screws. People here in the past stated that they didnt regulate the tank and it worked fine for them. I did see THIS (http://www.airamerica.com/apocalypse2k.htm) as an example of a tank with regulation on it. Can you buy something to adapt an existing HPA tank?

I've got some quick questions about the upgrades mentioned too...

#1. I'm sure I can install the vapor valve myself with no trouble. Does a standard cup seal still work on that valve if the black magic cup seal fails? Or am I going to have to look all over creation for another cup seal? (fyi price $34.95)

#2. With the Mitey Max, does that install on the BKO in the same spot that the current LPR is located? Do you have to do anything special to the marker in order to install it? It doesnt look to me that it would just install where the old LPR is, so I'm wondering.

Thanks for any input in advance!

1: You're magic cup seal is guaranteed to work, backed by a warranty from Goldie. So you have no worries there. And yes, I'm pretty sure that the standard cup seal fits the vapor valve.

2: Mitey Max screws right where your lpc is, so you just replace it. You will have to take out the spring, since Mitey Max comes with its own stiffer spring. I'm not sure if you can use stock spring, but it prob wouldn't be as good with the aftermarket one.

3: Even with an output of 800 preset on ur tank, you should get around 300-500 by adjusting the hpr and lpr. If you get an adjustable tank reg, like a thor, you will prob need to gut your reg or replace it with a gas-thru grip, since the present air would just end up being regulated through the gun. I'd keep it the way it is, juss adjusting the hrp and lpr. If you have money, upgrade to a gen-x or some other good lpr. Only prob is that you have to pay $30 more to get the adapter.

Hope that helps.

Sounds to me like you have your HPR set to high.

Try this proceedure to set your regs.

Back the adjustment screws out on your HPR and LPR.
You should have at least one thread showing on each screw.

Screw you tank into the marker.

Adjust your HPR until your gauge reads 200 psi.
Take the marker to a chrono and adjust your LPR until you reach your desired FPS.

This will get the marker fairly consistant and fairly efficent.

If this doesnt help improve your shot count let me know and I will give you another process. It is a lot more indepth and requires the use of a lot more paint but when you are done both your regs are set to run at the optimum preformance they can provide.
