ok these cocking rods baffle me. the stock kept f'n up so i got a twisted cocking rod. Ok, so i manage to get the stock one out, somehow, but now ive got this kapp one. i got the little twisted part, the rod, and the little tiny allen-wrench adapter thing. im guessing that screws in the top of the twisted part? so what do i do? screw that in tight, and then just twist the twisted part? screw it in tight and then use it to get the cocking rod in and out? i want easy access to my springs! arggh! help?!

Well, you're gonna have to get someone to time it for you so whoever you take it to, let them fix the twisted rod too.

um, it is timed.

when you put anything in your gun you almost always need to time it again because it screws up the timing.

Things guarenteed to screw up the timing, anything to do with changing rams, cocking rods, trigger frames, triggers, three-ways, cocking rods, valves, hammers, and of course, cocking rods.

i was thinking about getting this also, will it fit on my sto, also will a superfly bolt work with a sto and improve performance, and is that hole in the back of cocking rod for velocity adjusment??

I dont have a sto so i dont know if the superfly bolt is any good. It is for most guns. It should fit your sto and yes the little thing on hte end is for adjusting velocity.

no, the velocity adjuster is for adjusting velocity.
it was slightly out of timing, i just screwed the knob of the cocking rod in as far as it could go and it started shooting good again. what i want to know is how do u get it to come out easy

If you plan on going lp, get this bolt, otherwise you'll be fine with yoru stock bolt.

I bought a green twisted cocking rod last night and it works great! i didn't bring my marker to the proshop so i put it on at home and it works fine.

You're going to have to loc-tite the knob onto the rob itself, other wise you'll only remove the knob & not the rod, leaving the rod in with no easy way of removing it.
Try using a pair of vise-grips on the rob part but DON'T grip the threads, you'll ruin them.

first...the little allen set screw goes into the back of the twist part to lock it down...
first..screw the rod into the hammer all the way.....now twist the twist part onto the rod and pull your back block all the way back and hold it there.....look to see that the bolt is clear of the breach(loading hole)....(it should be back about 1/8")....just keep adjusting it til you get it right.....(do this un gassed)....
Once you have it set......screw the set screw in....(I took out the rod and held the twist part and really tightened down then screwed it back into the hammer) you can put a drop of loctite in with the set screw as you will not have to do this again unless you change your bolt....
you should be all set......but you might want to time your marker again.....never a bad thing to do....and if you don't know how.....I suggest you learn.....it's not that hard and the worst that can happen is you have to start over....
If anything this may get you to learn how to time your marker if you don't know how already....
as well as look cool on your marker....:|

also ...my two cents on bolts.....
if you are running a higher pressure....I would use a venturi style to break up the force of air on the face paintball
If you are running LP go with an open face bolt as the low preesure won't have as much effect on the paintball as the higher pressure does
again just my two cents...but do what you like.....it's your money.....

ok
ptflyer is right about the cocking rod
but not so right on the bolt
i would go with the lightning bolt
any bolt that is venturi style restricts air flow wich is not good
the supa fly does restrict
you want an oben faced bolt because it raises your velocity which allows you to lower your operating pressure which makes for a more effienct paintgun

ok...I have to disagree about the lowering of the pressure makes for a more efficent marker.....
I say that the combination of your parts will detemine how efficent your marker is going to be.
your marker will determine what is the best and most efficent pressure to run at....
To find out...you set your velocity adjuster about mid way...and turn your reg all the way down....now you take three or four shots over a chrono.....then turn it up ....three more ...turn it up....until your FPS stops going up and starts to drop again.....when that happens you lower back down and thats will be the most efficent pressure for your set up...now just adjust your velocity with your adjuster and your good to go.......

pb56...didn't that STO of yours come with a wide open face bolt???....thats a great bolt....
I'd get that rock reg you are wanting instead.....that will make more of a diffenance becuse you will be able to lower your rams pressure.....

Nah, the STO's come with the WGP venturi bolt....
It works pretty well. I liked it better than the ANS quickpull I had in mine.
