I chop alot... for an impulse. Not really just shooting, but when i shoot FAST is when i chop. It's fine, then i use the 2 finger walking shooting style and chop after 4 or so paintballs... This gets me upset. You guys talk about never chopping a ball without vision, how!?

I'll have to get vision soon before i go into my tourny. I was just wondering. Does anyone chop much? I've had about 8 breaks in the breach.

-Knux doesnt have 200 dollars to drop on Vision :(

Maybe it's the dwell, pressure, or r.o.f. setting. I just got a wermstick trigger, and I chop more than I used to, but not that much.

or you could look for a used warp feed. a lot of people buy them and then dont like them and sell for them

Im thinkin about turbo rev... it says at LEAST 16bps..... I dont like warp feed... It looks like it would feel wierd... But if i got to try it my opinion might change...

No its prolly not the dwell..... FOM set it perfect...I have a delrin bolt...So i dont know if that is better or wrose for chopping.

Its all paint...Ive ran diablo blaze, marbz, 2nds, hellfire... All with atleast one chop... One even made my bolt stick forward and it took 3 people to unstick the bolt... that marbalizer was stuck in there good.

-Knux needs something to feed faster

Try turning down your ROF. I know it sounds crazy but many people have found that once they did a trigger job they could easily out shoot their revy.

Think about it, is the extra ball or two per second worth all the headaches of the chopping?? IMO no, but then again I have a VERY slow trigger finger.

I've yet to chop! Knock on (as I hit my fist against my head) wood! I've also never messed with my R.O.F. pot! Hey if it ain't broke, it don't need fixin'!

I should clarify myself, I had said "I've never messed with my R.O.F. pot" what i meant by that is, alot of times ppl with get a marker, and one of the first things they do is tear it all apart, to see how it works, to see whats inside, to make it operate better! When ever I've done that, it's always cost me more in the long run, So I stopped doing that. Now I don't know if Knux68 "tweaked" his R.O.F. pot, prior too this posting, alot of guys will try, thinking it will increase their b.p.s., All I do know is, my two Std.Impulse's (non-vision) have had no major modifacations (other than my Werm Delrin bolts, and Freak barrels) since they have left FOM's hands, he did however do trigger jobs there before shippin them out to me. Granted I've re-adjusted my dwell settings (180 psi, 280 fps) But as far as "Doctoring, Tweaking, Soupin'-Up" my R.O.F. pot or for that matter any other internals, No! Again if it ain't broke, Don't need fixin'! Silent Knight, I've never chopped yet! Now my old legs can't run as fast as they used too, However my two fingers can still double tap my trigger pretty quickly, and to this date neither non-Visioned, Standard issued, Straight outta the box Impulse of mine has nibbled, bite , chewed, chomped nor chopped any paint, You might want to reconsider gettin the Imp for yourself and giving your bro, your current marker!:D
I thought I should also add this both Imp's use 12v Revy's with modified blades (chopped down)

I know that when I have messed with my ROF pot, my Impulse becomes a paint shredder. I even shoot a warp and it still chops paint. I have never touched my ROF pot since. When I get my vision I will for sure turn my ROF all the way up with confidence.

Knux, When did the choppin' start, It was workin fine just alittle while ago, wasn't it? Something must have changed! If not I'd follow up on Wolvy's suggestion and turn down the R.O.F. pot just a "twindlemyer"!

I'm big on if it ain't broke don't fix it, So I'll be the first to tell ya I've never messed with mine (rof pot) However turning the pot counter-clockwise will decrease the rate, What Ii'd reccomend would be to see where the pot is currently set, (let's say 12:00) look at the LED and turn on your Impulse the LED will turn orange, and then green, and then off, correct? I would back it off (turning the pot counter-clockwise) to 11:30 to start and see what happens there! When someone wants to increase their R.O.F. (why? I can't tell ya!) they would turn the pot clockwise til the orange light goes on and then back it off (turn it counter-clockwise until the green light came on, if it stays green, they need to turn it alittle more. I'll try to talk to FOM this morning and see what he thinks. Again Knux, I've never even looked at my rof pot let alone "tweaked it"! Good-Luck bro!

There is a chance that the ROF pot was set from the factory at a high setting. If you look at the top of you board you will see a pot labeled SEMI. This is your ROF pot. Take a small screw driver and turn it counter clockwise. (you were right Killer) You know that you are turning it by looking at you led in the back because it will be green. I would turn it about a quarter of a turn and see if you are still chopping paint. Repeat this until you no longer chop. Your ROF will decrease some, but not to much.

Make sure you are using a 12 Revy.

I got ahold of the FOM, And he stated "You need to reset the ROF" So what you'll need to do is turn the pot clockwise til the orange light goes on and then back it off (turn it counter-clockwise until the green light came on, and then goes off, it then needs to be turned just alittle more after that (he said a additional 10 degrees) He also wondered if your trigger might be just alittle out of adjustment too? Hopefully he'll be on line tonight, I know his plate right now is pretty full with Walt being stranded in England and having to tend the shop as well. Hope this helps! :|

Ok, i changed messed with it... I hope this works.

I did have a few questions, did it matter how much i twisted... was i supposed to go slow or fast... How far before the light stops etc....

BTW without gas, the thing doesnt click anymore when i pull the trigger...Instead, it "tinks"

-Knux hope he didnt break it

Knux,

Just thinking outloud... Have you checked your ball detent?

take off the barrel, look into the gun, and drop a ball into the feed tube-- does the ball detent keep it from falling all the way to the bottom?

The ball detent should be easy to push in (the little white ball) and it should have no "stickyness" to it.

Often when we break paint, we get some in the ball detent and it effecs the action of the detent. if the detent is "sticky", it will normaly fuction fine at low speed, but simply won't get out of the way fast enought at high rates of fire.

If it is sticky (at all) try taking it off and cleaning it up real good with a Q tip.

Hope this helps!
