well lets see here. The boomstick, a really good barrel, has straight porting. The freak system, all american, and tear drop have spiral. I'd have to say there both really good. Go with witch ever one you like.

Well some kid told me that spiral porting makes the barrel more accurate and I have had a boomstick, and now I have a carbon fiber and I see no difference in performance.

See, Spiral Porting was made so that it would put a spin on paintball as it left the barrel, theoretically making it more accurate. This would have worked, but the inside of a paintball is liquid, and while the shell does rotate for a while, the inside liquid doesn't. The friction of the non-spinning liquid rubbing against the spinning shell soon slows the ball to a normal non-rotating flight. So, all in all, it makes it spin for a few feet. It is nothing noticable one way or the other.

Yea I knew it spun but I didn't know the friction part. Thanks.:)

Thats why i cant wait for worr paint to come out since the paint sticks to the shell and then the porting will work

Sounds cool but won't the paint be all gunky?

what if you only had porting on the bottom or on the top?

would that do anything?

Thanks,

I have a AA barrel, and a DYE Boomy. And I dont know if the porting is magic or what, but the accuracy is very much the same. But when it comes down to it i would have to say that my AA with spiral porting is more accurate then my boomy.

Speaking of that WORR paint, I'm going to be able to try that paint very soon! can't wait
