The youngest someone can be around here to play is 10 years old. In fact I started around when I was 13 myself, so I know it's an appropriate age. If you're genuinely interested in letting him play, go to the "New Paintballers" forum of our website and ask any questions you'd like :)

I'm assuming you paintball as well Spyder guy, correct? (most likely, due to the fact your name has Spyder in it). Well do you feel he is fit to play? All we can really say is that he is old enough, but it's really up to you. If he really wants to, i'd say let him have a try, see how he likes it as well. Like Turambar said, 10 is the starting age, but I think that's a bit young, 13 is perfect though IMO.

I find it's more of a maturity issue than a physical age issue. I have plenty of friends I would NEVER go hunting with... however, I also know several 10-13 year olds I would.

That really is a good measure in my mind, because they require the same level of maturity. After the game, it IS a weapon and should be treated as such. If you would trust him to go dove hunting with you, then you should trust him here too. :)

At ten id let a kid do woodsball with just friends, but id never let him go to open pay with speedball and such. As far as 13 years old, hes plenty old enough. I started when i was 12.

13 is a great age to start just make sure you run over the safety rules with him. Barrel Plugs, Masks, what to do and what not to do with the marker.

i started when i was 12. if you're gonna let him go. its best to get him out there with a lot of his friends that are starting the sport or going their 2nd/3rd time. that way, its not overly competitive, they have all sorts of fun and they can help ach other grow. i did that(first time) with 11 friends. it was really fun because you know everyone. its up to you but dont send a kid that isnt responsible enough to take care of a dog. not saying yours isnt but you know..

Happy birthday Scotty!:D

And spyder_guy2, if you think your son is old enough to paintball, by all means let him. Who knows, it might bring the two of you closer together. :)

Yeah, 13 is a good age to start. If he's an irresponsible little brat, then no, but if he's smart enough to not get anyone killed and not be a total pansy while playing, then sure, let him play. If you have serious concerns, talk it over with your son to make sure you're positive about letting him play.

I think around here, at actual fields, the person has to be older than 12, but I've seen adorable little 9 and 10 year olds play. Check with the field you go to what age a person has to be to play.

I wish I could've started playing when I was 13. :( I was pretty sheltered back then. It's a little better to start playing during your preteens, because then you don't look like as much as a doofus than if you're a teenage or middle-aged newbie.

I was 12 the first time I played. It was at an older friends birthday party. It was really cool cuz we had a privte group. That way nobody could make fun of our maga-noobishness:crazy:.
