ok guys i need your help. I have been having major problems with the raptor. Its an old green one but it has the new internals. I just upgraded to a double trigger frame and since then it keeps going reactive. I have gone through 3 sears in the past month. I took my gun completely apart and all the seals and orings were good. Now another question. Putting the valve back in...there are two holes. One is right above where the ASA is...the next is where the valve screw comes through. Which hole does the valve sit above and how far does that screw go in? Thanks for all your help. Hopefully i can get it up and running in no time.

on your first problem it sounds like the pin that holds the sear in place in the grip may be the wrong one(brass eagle changed the insides of the grips when they came out with the colored raptors thus the old style pin doesn't hold the sear up far enough) I had a green reptor that did that untill I got a new pin for the sear. On your second problem the valve goes to the larger hole in the reciever body them put the screw almost all the way in but were it's not quite flush with the reciever. If you need more help e-mail me @ pantballplyr@yahoo.com or p.m. me if I'm online.

Spyderman's quote

you are kinda confusing me with your ?'s the hole that the valve sits above is the hole the valve screws goes into. the valve screw goes into one of the opposing holes on the valve body. a side note on the valve, the raptor valve has a summer and a winter position. if you look at the back of the valve ( the striker side)you'll find a small hole in the winter the hole goes toward the top of the hole to increase recock pressure on the striker. alot of times if you turn it to winter position in the summer it uses a little more gas but it recocks more reliable (especially during rapid fire). i personally dont like to replace sears unless i also replace the striker and sear spring. also when you have a recock problem on a raptor always replace the striker o-ring its the #1 cause for beat down in this style gun.

I don't really know what your problem is but when my gun was leaking air like no other I had to take off the front screw (below barrel) then unscrew the handle, I took out my valve and found it wasn't sliding back and forth so I took some pliers and made it slide. With a little lube it was like new. Then to put it back in you have smaller brass end facing forward (the odd shaped one) and then line up the holes so you can screw in the valve screw. The screw goes all the way in so its flush with the gun. Screw the handle in and bingo your done. And the airsmith said I had to send it into Brass Eagle. ha!
