I went for my first time paintballing in the woods, but we didn't have a croni (and I knew even from being a noob that some guns were a little high just by distance and how hard they hit) but about how far should a ball fly if it is set to around 280?

It depends on many things. The weight of the paintball, trajectory, angle of the barrel. Shoot and measure where it lands.

Oh yeah...who cares about how far is goes. Just get up closer and make sure you can hit them.;)

Not sure how far it's suppose to go at 280 fps, but someone should buy one of those portable handheld chronos. Most paintball supply sites should have them in store. If everyone's too cheap to buy one, then you can tell your friends stand a certain distance, shoot them, and if your friend is bleeding and/or scarring, you're shooting too hot.

there's an easier method of cronoing w/ o a crono, find a like trash can or somethign else to shoot at that is about 75 ft away. the pball should get there in about .44 seconds or bsically 1 if it'sa little ow about .52 if it's a little high. (i measured this lol with a few friends cus he doesn't have a crono either).

our paintball store just got started and hasn't gotten a croni yet so we are pretty much left to trust each other. All my friends are cheap lol, and I can't afford 100 bucks for a chroni so i guess I'll just wait till our paint store gets some

Yeah, Cindy's right. Just buy one of the handheld Chrony's. I have one, and by God, it saved my ***. My brother insisted that his Shutter didn't need to be chrono'ed, but I made him. Thank the Lord I did....He was shooting 425 fps :eek:. Trust me, they're worth every penny.



btw, Cindy....I don't think you can be sadistic and a pansy at the same time...

I meant someone who's sadistic and doesn't play fair just so they can win a paintball game that's just for fun. I consider wimps and cheaters pansies.

OMG we have been playing on our field for like 2 years and the whole freaking time my friend had one of those mini ones AND DIDNT TELL US lol stupid friends.

they are worth it....and chibs your idea sounds complicated:eyes: lol and anyone even count that fast??

no it's not complicated, you stand 75 ft away, and shoot....use a stop watch or something, it works really good, cus after we did this we went to a field and they shot right around 280ish.
