Okay, I'm new to the cocker world and am on a budget. Currently a Spyder owner looking to move up.

all things considered, what's WRONG with a stock verticle cocker, besides the barrel?

Also, is the Pro-team F/x Sleeper worth the extra cash over the Vert Stock? I'll end up going with a alum trigger frame eventually on the stock, if it makes a difference.

http://www.proteamdirect.com/fxcocsleep1.html for the pro team.

the Stock vert is 340 the F/x is 480

THANKS!

I'd rather get a Stock Vert feed cocker for 340 then a powerfeed Proteam f/x sleeper autococker for 480. There really isnt much a difference between them I THINK. The pneumatics are the same just polished and the body is adonized, but i may be wrong.

Good point aobut the F/x..

So what's so bad about the stock cocker that everyone is buying the custom ones?
THANKS!

nothing is bad about the stock ones. some people just like to have some upgrades already on the marker when they buy it.

i would take the vert feed anyday.

Not a thing wrong with the vert feed cocker, they are very nice infact. Except the trigger frame will break, eventually, and it is vert feed so there is zero sight piture. With the sleeper you get a power feed which you are used to on the spyder a better triggerframe and stronger beaver tail. You also get STO pneumatics and a great barrel. IMHO the sleeper is the best buy. However the stock vert is a very very close second.

the F/X Sleeper is one of the best deal for your money. Then again the price of a vert feed cocker has come down a hella lot. Like everyone else said, there is nothing wrong with the stock 2k1 vert feeds. all 2k+ cockers are great guns out of the box, and need very little upgrades to be tournament ready.

first....a v-feed for 340?.....
also...and f/x for 480?....the link even has it for 500.....well 499.00

anyway....
as you can see I got the f/x....sto parts....benchmark frame...the feed works just as well as a vertical....only if you marker slips a little out of time during a game....the blowback won't effect your feeding.....which keeps you on the field....

the only thing I don't like is that the front sto reg isn't adjustable.....but it's a great reg....and the sto ram is one of the best as is the 3 way.....

Just my 2cents

Hey guys, thanks for your responses. I've decided to make a few more upgrades to my Spyder and my gear and buy a Nitro tank before I go with a cocker. so when I buy one the 2k2 models will be out. I may go blackmagic or KAPP. Maygo with the new F/X Depends on finances then I Guess. Thanks for your help. I'll be lurking on the WGP part of this board in the meantime...learning all I can about the cocker first..
THANKS AGAIN!

The f\x and stock cocker have the same exact pnuematics, excpet the f\x's are polished... not the inside, the outside, they perform the absolute exact same as the stock cocker.

The f\x also has a powder coat, not anodizing. Powder coat adds color, but its not quite as shiny as ano, thats why the pictures of the f\x don't look all shiny like pictures of other guns.

I would prefer to buy the vert feed cocker and upgrade it... but if I couldn't upgrade then I would go for the f\x.

your wrong....the F/X has STO pnuematics....and it is NOT powdercoat.....it is ANODIZED.....it is not shinny...because anodizing in itself is not shinny....it is JUST COLOR......the shine or not is if the metal is poished or not.....the anodizing will only be a shinny as the polished metal underneath.....so.....don't talk out of turn....

I actually have a pro team sleeper and it rocks. I have seen people take stock cockers and "upgrade" them into piece's of crap. They short stroke all the time and just don't work well when they have all these "upgraded parts".
Whereas my proteam only shorts when I am low on air or it is being shot by my friend who shoots a bushy. It does have anodizing however it is a flat color that looks like powdercoat. It is a very durable finish. The Chrome STO pneumatics look good and perform well. I'll quote Silent Knight when I say "they are the pneumatics that all upgrade pneumatics are compared to".
Vertical feed is awesome But you have to buy a new trigger frame, and if you are smart upgrade pneumatics. Powerfeed has its benefits(ie: when you go over the top of the bunker to bunker somebody all the balls don't go back up your feed tube and it also puts your hopper behind a bunker if you play the right side of the bunker -which happens a lot for us right handers.)

My opinon go with the Sleeper you will not be disappointed but the Vertical feed cocker is also awesome but you will want to put some money in it to make it great.

Don't let the name sleeper fool you because the babies rock!!!:agree:

oh....and one more thing....it also comes with the pro team ball detent which is great at stopping double feeding...

The Pro team ball detent also helps keep those balls that are a little small for your barrel from rolling out.

I wasn't 100% sure about the powder coat, someone just told me that... BUT STO pnuematics are the exact same pnuematics as 2000+ cockers, only there shiny.
