Newbie here looking for first gun. Question: How often do manufactures come out with new guns, and what time of the year do they usually release them? I want the newest technology when I sink my measley $150 into my first marker. I'm not really interested in a tippman or spyder, as so many people have them and I want to be a bit different. I have heard rumors about a GT 2001 and have seen the new Rebel LE and thought some more companies might release new stuff soon.
Thanks for all informative replies!

All the time!
At least one new gun model or totally new gun is releast to the public every month. Some companies release new models all the time, IE kingman and PMI. Others release one or two models a year, WGP.

the Latest technology will cost you alot more than 150.00....but with 150 I would buy a proven marker....and just costomize it so it is different that "everyone" else....rather than get a new line that has no aftermarket upgrade availible......IMO

That, and IMO, I'd be leary of buying new technology that hasn't been used on the field ... It may sound great on paper but that doesn't mean it'll be a tried and true performer.

If you live close to a place where big tournaments are run, check 'em out. Some companies wait till big events to release their new stuff, or they give you sneak peaks of products to come... the other thing you can do is email the companies and ask when their new mask. gun, or whatever is coming out. If a company gets enough customer feedback on something, it might happen... remember, we as consumers, have the power to get what we want.

Thanks guys, my main reason for asking was the fact that I was considering the GT 2000 marker and I saw a teaser about the GT 2001. I know I wont get high tech with $150, but I just want the newer models of proven guns. I have a friend who bought a 98 and just a month later they came out with the 98 custom. Not a big difference, but he was a bit upset that he didn't wait to get an "easier to upgrade" version. Another reason I am waiting is the hype on the gt 2000 website about the pressure balanced valve. Will it only fit the GT or will it work in other markers. The guy reviewing claims the PVB will be in virtually every new marker released in 01'. Is it worth consideration when making my decision?
Hey they come out with new models a lot...don't get a new gun though...wait for other people to tell you if it is good or not. If you spend 150 on a gun that you think is good it may end up being a suckie gun. Go with a 98 Custom they are a good reliable gun with lots of room for upgrades so you can have your own unique gun.
