View Full Version : Help with picking a market for a newbies.
Hi everyone.
What is the best marker that i could get for a newbies? I would like to keep my cost under 150 dollars.
I found a couple below. Is there any that i could get from sport authority? since there is a 25% off coupon available. I would like an automatic though, or should i settle for a semi?
Icon automatic (http://www.thesportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1394276&cp=307108.970721.982073&fCat=982073&filter=yes&fpricesort=priceAscending&page=3&pageBucket=0&parentPage=family)
or how about this one
spyder semi (http://www.thesportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1283736)

automatic? like ones that have full auto? all markers are basically semi-auto except for pumps. some just have the ability to switch to full-auto. the spyder xtra you listed is fine. it's a semi only. you can find these cheaper at other places, like online. the Icon is a spyder clone - identical to a spyder but made by a small company (it's like a knockoff; not necessarily a bad thing but good to know).
check out www.pbgear.com or any local paintball-specific stores. do more research & shop around before deciding.

go to www.paintballgear.com to get a basic Idea of what kind of makers are out there and what the prices are.

Don't get a gun strictly because of the fact it has full auto. Chances are that you'll never be allowed to use it if you play at a legitamite field. I think that you should just get "a newbies" a mechanical Spyder or Tippman. Both are great beginner guns, and would serve a newbies well.
Good luck with the gun search. :)
Oh yeah, JT, you should probably delete your post, bud. Take it to the buy/ sale/ trade forums, then I'll <3 you forever. I swear.

I have it in b/s/t also. I don't think I should delete my post. He asked for help picking a marker. I gave him my deal and some advice. Anyway, he probably would not see it in b/s/t, this way he notices...

its not like he started a thread on it WS.
anyways, just get a cheap blowback spyder or tippmann.
Is there any semi with electronic switches that i should consider? And does the electronic switches help at all when i play? I am not going to play against veterant, just at a local field, maybe 4 time a year, but i don't like the pmi piranah that they have for rental, plus i save more money if i just buy the gun. Also any tips on how to play paintball? Should i hide or should i rush?

Buy from www.pbgear.com or www.paintballgateway.com . The sites you listed are over priced. An Xtra would be fine, or an Imagine (electric).
