I was wondering about what I can expect if I install a Low Pressure kit on my M98. I currently shoot nitro, but the reg is not adjustable. Can I take this to a shop to have it adjusted or would I need a new tank? Is there any need to have it adjusted? I've heard LP will increase accuracy and make the gun quieter. How much quieter and accuracte will it get? Are there any other upgrades I should consider to make the gun quieter (I want it to be REALLY quiet). What other benefits can I expect? I heard it also reduces ball chopping but that hardly ever happens to me, even without a motorized hopper. I realize if I went LP I should also get a macroline kit, too. Also, what is the difference between getting the full LP Kit for about $120 and just the LP Chamber for $20? Would the effects be the same or even comparable? Is the extra $100 worth it? I know that's a lot of questions, but thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Current Set-Up:
Model 98
Pure Energy 3000psi 68cu tank
Lapco Drop Forward
12" J&J Ceramic barrel
Full Boar RVA/RC
with custom powerfeed and reduced bolt slam

There's a great thread about this in the Ultimate Sticky called "Regulating Your Tippmann." I remember the guy who wrote it thought it would be a great resource that people would really make good use of, boy was he ever wrong!

i'll tell you what I know from my friends expirences with a lp kit...

1.) Even tho it guarantees to make your gun quieter...it dosn't. If it did, then I didn't notice it or their was not much difference...

2.) You do need a regulator(an lp too because you want to go down to 400psi) and yeah u need a valve on your hps so u can go down to 400psi otherwise their would be no point

3.)The kit basically allows u to double reg at lower psi...theory is then, you'll regulate better and your gun will operate better at lower psi, resulting in more shots out of ur tank and consistancy. The LP Kit did allow him to shoot more paintballs with his tank then before and he was much more consistant but not enough to compensate all the money spent for the LP (LP-100, reg-80, tank-250) and the difference wasn't much. He could have been that consistant with a Palmers Stab and a female stab or even just a stab and tanks a/s...

My friend unfortunatley got the short end of the stick and spent more money then he wanted to on something that didn't give much back for all his cash. From what I've expirenced, i say the lp kit is not worth it...
