I heard that you can get your gun other than an a-5 or 98 sent to tippman and they will mold it onto your gun or something is that true?

Take it easy on the man.
I don't think Tippmann does anything like that, the shroud that hides the Flatline's amazing ugliness just screws on and off, not sure how the A-5 version works but I think it's about the same. Anyone with an intelligence level above that of most primates is capable of properly installing the Flatline I'm sure you could even train an octopus to do it, it's pretty much a no-brainer.
Try to give the Flatline a try before you buy it, or buy a used one, as owning one is usually a "love hate relationship" ya either love it or hate it. I'm pretty indifferent towards it, but that's just me.

Tippmann installing your Flatline for you wouldn't work. Because there's no way they could ship it with the barrel on it and have it not become misaligned.

That would be really expensive as well now that I think about it, I think that UPS would charge extra 'cuz a 98 w/ Flatline is long and heavy, and you would get hit to send it to TIppmann and then to send it back, and then for the Barrel, and maybe(not sure for labor) That would bring to the total cost of your Flatline to around $130 or perhaps more if you bought it first and then sent it, 'cuz you would have to pay for it to get shipped to you and, then ship it all to Tippy, and then.....you get the idea,
You could do it I suppose, but it will cost inordinant amounts of cash for the maybe 5mins of work and 5-10mins tweaking for you to do it yourself.

Putting it on a different gun, other than a pre-flatlined cocker, can't be done. Simple as that.
