Well, one of my friends just purchased an Angel. Sounds cool, right? Wrong. The gun breaks a lot of paint! I fired off about a hundred rounds, and had to clean the barrel twice. That's not exactly good odds. He was using some Diablo RecSports, so they are good balls so it couldn't have been the balls unless he just bought a bad batch. I here there are a lot of other semi-automatic and burst weapons that are nice and don't break a lot of paint. Hey, are guns firing in burst mode outlawed from tournaments and fields?

Angels bad guns? YES, OOO YES, I HATE TEH ANGEL! I R ANGEL KLLAR!
Umm......is he using co2 on his Angel? Does he have the reg, lpr and whatever **** set properly? Is the dip switch timed correctly (do angels have dip switches??). Angels are one of the friggin best guns, if not thee best. To say that an Angel is a bad gun is like saying your Stingray can shoot 16bps.

Oh, burst modes are ok in tournaments..if you want to get kicked out. SEMI ONLY

Angels, are not bad guns, they are just overrated. Angels, like cockers were the first to do what they do. At the time they came out everyone was all "OOOHH Look at the angel" Because these guns were first, and when they came out, were the "best gun", they created a lot of hype and buzz.
They are still riding that hype today. Now, there are many other auto and full auto guns that surpass the performance of the Angel or cocker, but these guns still get the props they got when they were at the top of the game.
Personally, over an angel, I would get a timmy or better yet, an E-mag. Sure the angel has more fireing modes, but that IMO is more a gimmick than anything that is practically useful.
Note- the above is just my opinion and is not meant as a flame against angels or cockers, wich are both fine guns.

i would take a timmy or over an e-mag or an angel any day.
actually, i think angels are very good markers, i had the opportunity to fire one the other week and they are great. i am pretty sure your friend did something dumb, like not having a revvy, using co2, not setting the regs correctly. or maybe the paint was too big for the barrel. medium to small bore paint works the best, advantage premiums and advantage big ball worked best for the stock barrel, so says the owner of my local field.

I don't think they're over-rated. Overprice..maybe, but not over-rated. Thanks to an idea from Krasher, I'm gonna save up for an LED and get it done into a Free Flow Angel (by Lockout) for only $100 us. Your Angel can then run at 250psi, NICE.
I'd say they are easily the best gun. If you're playing a major tourney, there'll always be a WDP tech. The gun's reliable as heck, doesn't need alot of maintenance and can shoot KOWAZY fast (= good). OOO OOO, I DON'T NEED 15+bps. Well I do! The only thing I don't like is the long range accuracy. Might be bad for 10-man, but I shouldn't have a problem on the smaller 3/5-man sup air fields.

LED's have a 14 way valve LCD have a 5 way valve both do the same thing just go about it slightly different (and have nothing to do with operating pressure). stock opeprating pressure is 400-500 on the LED and 350-450 on the LCD. the darks maybe get you down to 300 but thats pushing it. mostly the aftermarket angles are just cosmetic.

Your 14-way must be clean or new to achieve consistent velocity with the lower cycling pressures. If you do not know how to clean your 14-way do not expect a very large decrease in cycling pressure. I reccommend cleaning your 14-way every 20,000 shots with this mod.

UUUUUMMM how would an angel have worse range and accuracy? unless you put some sort of spin on the ball (as done with a flat line) the ball will go the same distance. how would one go farther than the other:confused:? and how would accuracy change? maybe you wouldn't pay attention to aiming because you can achieve a higher rate of fire, but i don't think it could be less accurate.
However, i think angels are sweet markers, the bushmaster (which i have) is based off of the angel design. the reason angels get poo-pood on is because they are expensive, but in my opinion they are very high performing, i've never seen problems with them, shoot great out of the box, and have everything you could want on the electronics.
the only reason i don't have one is the price, and maybe the size, the perfect solution was my bushy :D

The angels aren't that big of gun, they are more Long then tall.
The bushy is taller than the angel, but definetly short(in length wise)

I would want a long gun more then a tall gun.. whats your guys' opinions on that? body/shape of the angel? or body/shape of the bushY?

i am very happy with the shape/size/weight of the bushy, its very compact and light. i dont really mind or notice ot being that tall, though it is slightly taller than most guns  my set up is very compact and well balanced, i love it. but then again i love angels, some day ill get one (probably next year)

On the field, can you tell the differance? i can't, i dunno, i've gotten used to haveng the bushy be SO light that any other gun seems like a dead weight, but then again, i've got a really tiny setup, (lenght wise) tallwise? i'm getting a warp someday to get the hopper off the top, but that might make the gun off ballence, but then i could move my tank at a differant angle (gotta love the DZs adjustability) Hmm, i really want a sonic w/anti chop eye now. I feel weak because my spyder seems like a dumbell:laugh:
