is it common for the matrix selenoid to go out? And how much does it cost to replace it?

It is not something you need to worry about if you have an adjustable tank, and the new solenoids can take up to 900psi i believe. THe first matrices coudl only take 200psi, then the soleinoid would blow..but now, its not a problem Dont worry about it, just an adjustable tank would work well.

Newer ones take up to like 600 psi, which is very high (consider many other markers which would blow at that pressure). Don't worry about blowing the solenoid with a newer one, its pretty rare. And if it does happen, you always have those loveable folks at procaps ;)
