tourney gun or no tourney gun?

I have a piranha sts vf g3- titanium. I play mostly backyard woods play with the occasion of a few speedball games in mor open areas. I am considering entering in some local tournaments. It has no upgrades yet. What upgrades can i get it for tourney play or do I need to buy a Cocker or something? :blah:
