 Just one word to any of you thinking of getting a long barrel like about 16 in. + dont do it, it just gets in the way, and it doesnt help, stupid all american 18.in, I'm gonna get a new barrel now and I'm thinkin along the lines of and Armson Stealth or a J&J Ceramic, my brother has an Armson and the rifling is quite impressive- his 13in has better range and more accuracy than my AA- I used a J&J Ceramic once and i couldnt really see anything to special about it, it just loostened itself a few times, didnt break any paint though...Give me some input here

good lengths for barrels are from 8-12". wouldn't recommend going longer than that since it's just more friction to slow the ball down.

as far as milling goes, the smoothest, mirror-finished milling is best. rifling (that swirl etching in actual firearms) works best with bullets, not with paintballs. it's a small ball filled with paint, for jeebus' sake! how straight would you expect it to fly? just get the best paint-to-bore match as possible.

the majority of barrels have the same range, having only distance variations of no more than a foot.

lots of people swear by dye barrels, although they run pretty high, price-wise. all americans are supposed to be good, just don't get one that's ridiculously long. a new brand, equation designs, claims to be close to quality as dye but at nearly half the price. i have an e.q. kit and so far it's fairing pretty well. teardrops are decent as well. also, i've noticed the quality of kingman's stock barrels to be increasing.
