Hey, now, I realize that this question may be asked a lot, but daym..
anyway..
Personally, I can't argue with my Lapco Bigshot. When I go LP, its the best barrel there is..
CP, Dye, JJ also good barrels..

CP's are very nice, and if you dont mind a bit of extra weight, look into the Dye stainless steel barrels.

:P I went with the Smart Parts All American, It is a good barrel if goin lp. And it is in ur price range, maybe a bit more.

I would have to disagree with a Smart Parts barrel being good for LP use. Too much porting can come to really low velocities, poor efficiency, or sputtering problems.

AAHH, but, the porting doesn't come until after the last 8 inches, of a 14 incher, the first 6 inches of the barrel have no porting at all...perfect for lp. So actually the barrel is 6 inches long w/ 8 inches of porting or 8 inches for the ball to create spin.

Yes, it may be so, however, air that could be propelling your ball further (Which would increase velocity) would be wasted going out the ports. Thus you would need to screw in your velocity adjuster to get the velocity you could have had, if you were using a barrel with less porting. You will be extracting even more volume, thus effiency will drop quite a bit...

Yes, that is true, but i am just saying that u would use less co2, than if u had one w/ all porting, but what u say it right, and i understand, but i would rather, my personal perference, use a little bit more co2 to allow the ball to have some spin and be more accurate. b/c i really don't go for that single shot from 100 feet away, i depend on several shots making there target.

I don't see how the ball would be spun with more porting... Could you explain this a bit more? If it's true about the spin, I'd like to know more... ;)

WOOHOOOO BIG SHOTS RULE!!! ;) definatel go with a big shot, light, accurate, looks good, clears a break well, and its only $50! i wouldn use any other barrel (except an autospirit, or a freak set fo course, hehe) but i would definately say go with a big shot.

Instead of the CO2 pushing the paintball out of the barrel in one spot, it allows the co2 to be release strategically, spiraled porting, making the co2 to be released making the ball spin as the pressure behind it decreases...it doesn't decrease dramtically so u have to waste co2 to get the distant back by turning up ur velocity...So for the amount of co2 being released is worth the accuracy in my case.

If the inside of the barrel is smooth, I don't see how it could cause spin unless it was curved like the Flatline. Also, if the barrel does give backspin, screwing the barrel in further could cause spin to go against you, and drop dramatically. Or it could curve to the side, and stuff. Which is why I believe the barrel doesn't give a spin...

bah! SP barrels dont create back spin, that is to get people to buy 'em!

:paranoid: its a conspiracy man! :paranoid:
